We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Jahns and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Self-fulfillment has always been important for me and I realized I can only reach a high level of that when I‘m my own boss. I wanted to set my own goals and make my dreams a reality.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being an artist means that you open your heart and soul to the world. Every piece I create comes from my heart and mind. Art is very personal. I’m very happy and lucky to make people smile through my work. Over the last 12 years I worked and lived as an artist and on that journey I experienced so many incredible life changing things. Doing what I love and am passionated about for a living is a blessing and a curse. There is no hard cut in between work and private life. Wherever I go I work. As the managing director of my own company I have a lot of responsibility and sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming. As long as you find your base where you can calm down all is good.

Currently I am working on one of my biggest art projects called STELLALUNA. I developed and created a 360 degree interactive art experience where you will be surrounded by the art. Not only did I create the art, I also developed the technology and wrote the soundscape for the collection. It will be released in the future and it might change the art industry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a big fan of nature so I would go out for a hike for sunrise. There are amazing hikes close to the cliffs where you have a stunning view over the ocean. We are also really enjoying ourselves at the beach, Malta has beautiful beaches in the North with clear water and soft sand. Most of the places are our personal favorite spots which I don’t wanna share 😉

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife has always been my base, my place to calm down. She inspires me and my art and always stands behind my decisions. Her support means the world to me.
