We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is simply to continue working. I am a firm believer in all work is honorable, and if you continue to keep working, no matter the task, you will be rewarded.

What should our readers know about your business?
I have always worked in the entertainment and events industry, from working at PBS to Bravo to the WNBA and to Comic Con. However, through the advise of Lamson, I decided to pursue my own business knowing that I had corporate experience in my back pocket. I grew up in a small business environment, as my father owned a karate school aside from his day to day job. I knew I had the foundation to run a business personally, and I thought to myself, why not. In 2015, I decided to pursue a business of my own, and partnered up with an acquaintance of mine for many years to open a screen print shop. I used all the tools at my disposal to grow the business, and today, we have partnered up with an embroidery shop and large format print shop to expand the business. We have grown in revenue every year, and continue to do so, even through the pandemic. Currently, we are looking to expand our fulfillment business, and we are working hard to strike gold.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I will keep it short and simple. If it is a friend that has never been to California, I will take them to Disneyland – the happiest place in the world! Other than that, I would do the most touristy things I can think of, such as the Hollywood Walk, The Observatory, and so on and so forth. However, there is no trip to Southern California that is complete with visiting one of the major beaches, enjoying the sunset, possibly doing a bonfire, and checking out the local bars. Some of these things may be tough to do at the moment, but here is to hoping we can enjoy these things once again.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
You may know the person I would like to dedicate this to, and it is Lamson Nguyen, owner of Kaizen Shabu in Santa Ana. He has been an older brother to me for some time now, and I credit my career choices and my desire to open my own small business due to his own ambition, dedication, and motivation.
