Meet Rochelle Gallenson | Licensed Acupuncturist and Wellness Center Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rochelle Gallenson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rochelle, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks can feel scary because we fear failure. I have learned over the years that the only way to elevate your life and career is by taking risks and trying to view them as opportunity for success versus risk of failure. Though I have always been somewhat calculated and cautious with risk taking, each move has gotten me closer to where I want to be. The bumps along the way have taught me valuable lessons that have helped me pave the way toward the practice and the space that I have today.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a licensed acupuncturist and co owner of a wellness center in Playa Vista, California. We offer acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicine, massage, and womens health modalities. We have been in this space for over three years now and our vision to offer a space of healing, safety, and relaxation to this community has truly come to light. There have been many challenges along the way. Prior to owning this space, I began by working for other businesses that seemed to be solely focused on numbers which prioritized quantity of patients over quality of healthcare. This did not align with my values and soon I too became just as disposable and was replaced after I had a baby. At this point in my career I decided to take my first risk and start my own practice. I wanted to have ownership over my practice so I set out on my path, trying out different office settings and slowly building patients and a name for myself. Though I was grateful to have my own business, I still felt vulnerable working in spaces that were not entirely my own. I decided to take another risk and open up a clinic of my very own with a colleague who shared the same vision and values. It came together so beautifully and we could not be happier in this special community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Probably do a nice hike in malibu or palos verdes, or ride bikes along the strand in the south bay. I would probably grab happy hour with them somewhere with a ocean view. check out some yoga classes, maybe take the kids to knotts berry farm.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my co office partner Jennifer Ryan, also a licensed acupuncturist who took a chance with me and together we created a special vision for the wellness center that we manage together. I feel so fortunate to share this vision and this journey with one another.
