Meet Roger Ribeiro | Ator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Roger Ribeiro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roger, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, my neighborhood was on the outskirts, we had no options, art came as a great opportunity to explore worlds that I had no idea about, I created wings with different possibilities, being an artist shaped my personality, having the responsibility of giant communication and giving people the opportunity to think is something too rich, I don’t know how to live without art.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It was and is extremely challenging, I came out of nowhere, without money, credibility in a country that hardly recognizes its artists, luckily that is changing, it took me many years to start walking on the road that is leading my dream. I always believed in my potential and never deviated from my focus, in addition to love I do everything with great dedication, I always try to listen to people I admire, feedback is not always what I want to hear but I always try to extract something positive.
I overcome my challenges with a lot of therapy, conversations with my wife and believing in my dream, always.
I would really like to be recognized and taken as an example for people to understand that the process takes time but each day will have a different lesson, persevere and persist make the difference in life and in building a dream.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here in Los Angeles I would take it to Griffith Park, to see the view of the city, we would walk in Santa Monica and Venice for a true Californian atmosphere. Then take her to Culver City for lunch or dinner.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
During this journey I would very much like to highlight here: My wife, immeasurable partner who decided to live this dream with me, my son who is the reason I live, my mother, brother and father for always believing, and of course my family and friends who are always by my side, if I were to set up a script of my life, all these people would have to appear in the story, they are my fuel.
