We had the good fortune of connecting with Romeo Lacoste and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Romeo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It was pretty straightforward—I had a talent and a product people wanted, and I knew I had an edge on social media. I built my personal brand and business as a tattoo artist, eventually opening my own shop. I applied the same strategies there, helping make The California Dream Tattoo one of the most famous tattoo shops in the world. It all comes down to staying ahead of the curve and doing what no one else is doing—yet.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve had an epic journey in the tattoo world—tattooing on major TV shows, working with some of the biggest names in the world like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Kendrick Lamar, and building a global following with millions on social media. It’s been a wild, surreal ride. I was also one of the pioneers of single-needle micro tattooing, recognized for creating the smallest tattoos with the most intricate detail. Now, it’s time to take everything I’ve built and scale it into something even bigger—transforming this brand into a global force in an entirely new way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Looking back, it’s surreal to realize how much of the early journey I navigated on my own. I wasn’t just building a career—I was breaking ground in an entirely new space. I pioneered what it meant to be a celebrity tattoo artist in the era of social media, long before there was a path to follow. Today, as I scale and evolve the business, I’m fortunate to have a circle of accomplished mentors and advisors. But in the beginning, there was no roadmap—just instinct, vision, and a willingness to learn through trial and error.
