We had the good fortune of connecting with Rony Ghoraishy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rony, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I taught yoga for so many years in a studio setting and realized that people’s bodies are so different anatomically. In terms of injuries and past traumas, people need to be supported differently from a person-to-person basis. Yoga is not a one size fits all practice, which is what inspired me to start my own business and specialize in private therapeutic yoga where I go to people’s home and customize the class based on their needs and personal goals. I mix breathwork, meditation, coaching in with the physical practice of yoga asana to support people to live more physically and mentally at peace.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other yoga teachers is how deeply I care and am invested in my clients’ lives. I have worked with all my clients for years and have established a deep relationship with them not just on their mat, but off their mat. I am able to intuitively tap in to what it is they need and how they need to be supported on a session by session basis. I genuinely invest in people and hold space for them in a compassionate, safe and supportive way and I believe that is truly transparent in the way I show up for clients.

I use to work in real estate and dealt with burnout and anxiety. Yoga, breathwork and meditation were all tools that helped me tremendously ease my stress and anxiety so I love to share those practices with people. In addition to doing private in home sessions, I am passionate about leading retreats and taking groups of people around the world to experience an immersive experience, move their bodies, change their life perspective and meet like minded people. Forming connections and holding space for people in a retreat setting is one of my greatest joys and passions in life!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love food and outdoor activities. Some of the places I would take friends visiting town would be Bestia in downtown LA, Alba in West Hollywood, and Erewhon in Pasadena followed by a shopping day in old town Pasadena. We would do outdoor hikes with beautiful views overlooking the ocean, lunch at Nobu in Malibu followed by a stroll around the village area. We would go to Manhattan beach and walk the Strand and eat fresh seafood. It wouldn’t be an LA trip without seeing a live concert at the Hollywood bowl or Greek theatre!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m grateful for my friends and family who saw my talent and encouraged me to pursue my passion of teaching early on. My husband has been super supportive of my international and local yoga retreats and encourages me to continuously expand my horizon and creatively think outside the box.
