We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Fulton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Morgan, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
In an industry oversaturated with coaches and trainers that share similar modalities and approaches to their training, I wanted to bring a more personal and holistic approach to the preventative health field. After 5 years of working in corporate gym settings, my education and approach to how I coach clients started shifting towards helping to create a better balance within one’s bio-psycho-social environment. I created Integrative Movement LLC in order to provide a coaching company that uses multiple methods and resources to help any client reach their physical goals; whether that be strengthening the body, to prevent injury, for aesthetic goals, to enhance athletic performance, or to create a healthier balance in life. Everyone moves through life differently and everyone has different environmental stresses, but in the preventative health and health field it can get easy to start looking at every goal, injury, and individual as the same, which influences how treatment and care are executed.
My goal with my business it to create an integrative network, between myself and other practioners, to guide each client towards reaching their physical goals as well as the healthy bio-psycho-social balance they need to maintain said goals.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Building your own business, no matter what generation, is never as easy as it seems. Often times, especially with the growth of social media, we see people’s success without seeing the work ethic and fails that it took to get to that success. Every successful individual has a team of resources and other individuals that have helped them reach success. I didn’t get to where I am at today alone and I won’t continue to have a successful business if I only rely on myself.

We are taught that at some point you won’t have to continue school or that you will reach a point where you no longer need education, but the constant evolution of our world demands that we all stay students. This is crucial within any healthcare work. True masters are always students of their craft. Any time I feel like I hit a rough spot in my business, I refocus back on my studies and the answers or opportunities that I need follow. Intention, action, reaction.

Entrepreneurship and business today have changed a lot. You see a lot of people sacrificing their values to gain a following, fame, or money. Something that has been my biggest strength as well as weakness has been my refusal to sacrifice my authenticity and values for the sake of marketing my business. In an industry that mostly profits off of aesthetic goals, emotionally triggering phrases, and markets mostly with out-of-context fitness tips, it can be hard to help people understand the value of my business.

I am here with my business to make long-term positive effects on the way people train and approach fitness. For my dancers/athletes, I ensure they can perform and execute movement with less of a chance of injury as well as see progressive difference in the strength/power of their body. For my competitive lifters, I ensure they can increase their weight and effectiveness of their movement while avoiding pains/injuries in the process. For my everyday-loving, non-competitive clients, I ensure they can live pain free and reach their ideal physical health. For everyone, I ensure that all my clients become stronger physically and mentally in order to better endure and make easier their daily lives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being in Orlando, FL, the easy first guess would be the theme parks when in the mood for a long day in the heat and a dent in your wallet. Now if it’s a sunny and hot day out, wekiva springs where you can either go kayaking or tubing would be my favorite spot. We have a section of Orlando referred to as VietTown that has a lot of wonderful Vietnamese and Thai restaurants. A few of my favorite spots that are located closer to downtown are Oudom Thai & Sushi and Saigon. My favorite places to grab something sweet are Greenery Creamery (a Filipino run, homemade ice cream shop) and Market on South that has all vegan desserts and baked goods. If you enjoy a bit of extreme fun, you can find me training at a trampoline park called Altitude in the Sanford area as well as Forge by The Stunt Collective (a stunt and flip gym). There are plenty of other sights like Lake Eola downtown, but I personally love searching out the spots that are not as commercial.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Offset Med, a team of healthcare professionals based out in California, has been and continues to be such a big contribution/resource towards the growth of my business. When I first started to mold my business into what it is today, I decided I want to become a solid resource for dancers and other athletes who are not provided with the healthcare teams that other sponsored sports are, such as football. As I was getting more involved in the local dance scene and beginning to work with dancers, I met and networked with the Offset Med team; they helped guide me on how to further pursue my career goals within the dancer-athlete population. They even entrusted the care of their client Logistix onto me when she moved to the Florida area. This was a pivotal point in my career because it was the moment I realized the value of what my business had to offer and the potential of my impact.
