We had the good fortune of connecting with Roopal Tyagi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roopal, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from India, born and raised in the south, and currently based in Mumbai. Growing up in India instills an innate sense of spirituality that seeps into one’s heart and soul, often without conscious awareness. I never actively thought about it—I was too caught up in being ‘too cool’ for it. However, over time, I realized that many of my actions and values were deeply influenced by this subconscious spiritual grounding.

This perspective has been instrumental in my professional life, helping me develop clarity, prioritize what truly matters, and manage stress more effectively.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I primarily work on television shows in India, which are far from easy to shoot. As a lead character, we often work 12-14 hours a day, every single day for 30 days straight. It can be exhausting, but showing up every day and delivering my performance with the same energy and conviction is something I am truly proud of.

This journey wasn’t easy. Bagging a lead role on a TV show was a dream I worked tirelessly to achieve. I struggled for years before signing my first major project. During that period, life was tough—living alone in an expensive city like Mumbai and simply surviving was a challenge. However, a sense of spiritual grounding played a significant role in keeping me balanced.

If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s the importance of incorporating spirituality into life. It provides the strength to navigate difficult paths and maintain mental and physical balance during tough times. If there’s one takeaway from my story, it’s this: bring even a drop of spirituality into your life—it can make all the difference.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Right now, since I’m having a great time in Los Angeles, this is exactly where I’d bring her! We’d definitely go on a hike to the Hollywood sign, enjoy some tacos, visit the beach, and probably end the day with a delicious meal at Cabra in downtown LA! A drive to Mount Wilson would also be on the list 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am a self-made woman who has worked hard and hustled relentlessly to reach where I am today. While it may sound like a cliché, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my family—emotional, financial, and physical. My dad, mom, and brother have been my pillars of strength throughout this journey.
