We had the good fortune of connecting with ROWE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ROWE, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk level is one of the ultimate factors in guaging the importance of any decision in life. And while I find great truth in the phrase, “bigger risk, bigger reward”, the flip side to that is “more risk, more regrets”. The regrets come in two different ways, but ultimately just one. And that would be if which ever route you decide to take in life, you don’t truly 100% give it every fiber of your being to come out the winner, and you lose…you are going to hate yourself because the time you spent chasing rainbows you won’t get back. I’ve played it safe and I’ve taken risks. I’ve felt regret doing both things. So the biggest risk I’ve decided to take from now on is to trust MYSELF (And of course God). So far it’s been serving me so much better.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an actor, a singer and music producer, and just like so many of us here in LA I wear many other hats as needed to accomplish my goals, and to be frank, survive in this industry.
I started out in music primarily, working with my father at his company (Rowe Entertainment). And the first thing he instilled in me was the need to learn the BUSINESS of music along with honing my craft and diversifying my skills so I wouldn’t need to wait on someone else to move! This same discipline and flexibility has served me well since I’ve made the move to the acting world. I have credits both in front and behind the camera. I pride myself on not just being a capable leader, but on being a reliable team member when working a project.
None of what I’m doing has come easy as I’ve had to keep faith in very trying times. But the best blessings come not from how hard I am grinding, I would say it comes from being consistent and being sincere in my interactions with people. Hollywood/LA has a horrible reputation for being a town of fakes and users. It pays well to be that breath of fresh air, the authentic energy that so many of us yearn for. I lead with checking myself before worrying about the next individual. God sees me trying and He takes my hand the rest of the way.
When you see or hear the name ROWE, I want it to be associated with class, vibe, grandeur, and wholesomeness.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a terrible trip planner, and not as extroverted as most think lol. But I’d definitely have them try some of my favorite food spots and restaurants like JoeyDTLA and Rowe Ent BBQ in Compton. We gotta hit the beach (one of the cleaner areas of course) preferably Manhattan or Huntington. And LA always has a function; festival, or something popping aobit won’t be hard to get outside somewhere whether we invited or not.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While I am definitely my own person, so much of who I am (my values, my capacity for understanding, my passion for entertainment) comes from my dad, James H Rowe. He has done so much for me in preparing me for life and this industry, and I appreciate him for that.
