Meet Rudy Ayoub: Musician & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rudy Ayoub and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rudy, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Just to keep doing what I was doing even if I wasn’t getting anything in return. It took about a year of posting 3 videos a week until my channel started getting some traction and got the algorithms attention. That timeframe is the same for everyone who started a channel, sometimes smaller/ bigger, but most don’t give it the time it needs and give up here. There’s a lot that affects whether you catch the algorithms attention, and one of them is consistent uploading, and it’s very easy to get discouraged if it doesn’t go in your favor.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My content is mostly guitar/music related skits, with very dry humor, if any. The skit format would be me talking to myself, no other actors were involved. This is mostly because I don’t have many friends locally who could help me out bust out content as often as I do, it is also way easier to direct yourself as an actor because the final product is already in your head, and all there is to get it done is to execute it. I don’t need communication skills to talk to myself and explain the ideas haha. Turns out that not many channels were approaching the music comedy the way I did, and I found that out slowly through my audiences feedback. I’m not saying I am the pioneer of musical comedy, but I guess there’s always a different way you can approach what you are doing. It did get to a point where I felt like I needed to branch out and make broader content within the music niche. This always goes both ways, it can hurt your channel but it can also blow it up, it’s a gamble, but most of the time it’s worth to see how your audience, the algorithm, and the views handle it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Probably go out to explore local nature and trails, jam/ record some music, also go to some local skateparks/ six flags. Nothing too crazy I don’t party or anything and eat mostly at home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife and her dad both suggested that I start making videos. I wasn’t very interested in the beginning and was convinced that my niche was already saturated. After a while of them mentioning it I thought giving it a go wouldn’t be a bad thing.
