We had the good fortune of connecting with Sachi Peiris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sachi, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
The amount of behind-the-scenes work that goes into everything. Something as simple as a social media post is always meticulously planned out. What is often seen in the public eye is the tip of the iceberg. Most artists/DJs put in countless hours of hard work and planning into everything.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey into the world of music began at the age of 12, where my passion for music led me to learn the trumpet and French horn. Coupled with piano skills and a deep dive into music theory, I cultivated a love for diverse genres such as rap, jazz, rock, indie, and R&B. House music became the canvas for my musical palette, allowing me to blend elements from various genres into infectious basslines and percussive grooves. My productions and live sets are a testament to my love and appreciation for music across the spectrum.
Based in the vibrant city of Miami for the past four years, my sound has been enriched by Latin grooves, a reflection of the city’s cultural melting pot. Despite these influences, my shows always remain true to my roots in jazz, rap, R&B, and various other genres. I have been blessed to perform at numerous prestigious venues in Miami, leaving a mark on places like M2, Daer Day Club, SLS South Beach, Oasis, The Trip, and Swan. My musical journey reached new heights as I made my festival debut at the We Belong Here Festival in February 2024.
With an arsenal of unreleased original tracks and edits, recently supported by artists such as Carlita and Dennis Cruz, I am preparing to make 2024 a groundbreaking year for my music with my first official releases.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would recommend a morning at club space. This would consist of waking up at 6 am, enjoying breakfast and starting a day with a few drinks and with music played by some of the best DJs in the world in one of the best clubs in the world.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am without the help of everyone from Just Hospitality here in Miami, working with them has truly expanded my network and opportunities to perform. Also, many of my close friends and my girlfriend, who have supported me and helped me with all aspects from day one, with them I have a loyal team that I know I can always rely on.
