Meet Sage Flores | Owner of Sunburst Films Content Creation Company

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sage Flores and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sage, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ever since a young age, I had really been into creating youtube videos for fun. I started when I was 13 and continued to do it for 4 years until I was 17. Although I never made money from it or gained many followers I did get alright with a camera and was getting good at editing. My father Big Chris Flores who is a music producer had a client who asked him if he knew anyone that could make a music video for him. My father told him that I made youtube videos and I could probably do one if he was interested. So I pulled up a little cinematic edit from a vlog and showed it to him. He said it was really cool and was down to have me film & edit his music video in Hollywood for $300. I remember being ecstatic and thinking to myself “damn I can make money doing this”. That night I created an Instagram account called SageSkyShots and from there on out I began marketing myself as a Director, Filmer, and Editor which would later turn into Sunburst Films a Content Creation Company.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At Sunburst Films we emphasize getting to know our clients in order to create the most individualized experience for their brand. Some people may need help managing their social media accounts, some need music videos, some need commercials or some just need photos. I feel like most companies similar to Sunburst Films generally tend to focus on just one type of production. With us, we like to sit down with our clients and have an honest conversation about what’s best for them. We have worked with all sorts of clients from A list Celebrities, Rock stars to Social media influencers with over 10 million followers and many businesses looking to reach more exposure or promote a product. Were a very diverse company and can help with many aspects.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is such an amazing place, especially in my industry. You can drive for 1 hour and get to the beach, mountains, desert, and snow. If my friend was coming to town and hadn’t been to LA I can confidently say I’m a pretty good tour guide. I met some foreign exchange students here in La a few years ago and they became some of my best friends very fast. That year I took them everywhere. It’s always super cool when people are from another country because everything you show them is so new, and LA is one of the most diverse places in the world. There’s always something to do. Off the top of my head, some places id have to take them to are the beaches, Downtown La, Hollywood, some beautiful views, and of course In n Out. I love in n Out haha those animal fries and pepperoncinis hit different.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to my Mom & Dad for always being so loving and supportive. If it wasn’t for my father always spitting facts, life lessons, & recommending me that first client of mine (and more) I definitely wouldn’t have started doing what I do at a young age or would be nearly the person I am today. I’d also like to thank my team at Sunburst Films of course, I can’t forget about them… I love working with you guys on projects, we make a great team and we will continue killing it! Thank you Jordan and Phil 🙂
