We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Sasan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sam, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Choosing to pursue an artistic career was no accidental decision for me, it was a calling. From a young age, I was captivated by the ability of art to tell stories, to express emotions, and to inspire change. It’s the universal language that speaks where words sometimes fall short.

For me, the decision to walk this creative path was rooted in empowerment. The ability to create something from nothing, to bring an idea to life and share it with the world is an immensely empowering feeling. It’s a constant journey of self-discovery, self-expression, and breaking boundaries.

Ultimately, I believe that art, in all its forms, is a force for good in the world. It’s a powerful tool for sharing stories, for fostering understanding, and for inspiring change. That’s why I chose this path, and why I continue to walk it with passion and dedication.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art, to me, is a reflection of my personal journey, my emotions, and my interpretation of the world around me. It’s an amalgamation of my experiences and my imagination, expressed in a visual form. Each piece tells a story, evokes a feeling, or poses a question.

What sets my work apart is its authenticity and the unique perspective I bring to it. I believe that art is deeply personal and should stay true to the artist’s voice. I strive to make sure that every piece I create is a genuine reflection of myself and my thoughts.

One of the things I am most proud of is the versatility of my work. I enjoy experimenting with different mediums, styles, and techniques, pushing the boundaries of my creativity. This diversity in my portfolio showcases my willingness to evolve and adapt, keeping my work fresh and engaging.

Getting to where I am today professionally was by no means an easy journey. There were times when I questioned my path, faced criticism, and grappled with self-doubt. However, I overcame these challenges by staying true to my passion and believing in the power of my art. I learned to see every setback as an opportunity for growth and every critique as a chance to improve.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. I’ve learned that success in art is subjective and that it’s more important to be proud of the work you produce than to seek validation from others. I’ve also learned that perseverance, patience, and a willingness to take risks are key to growth and innovation in this field.

As for my brand, I want the world to know that it stands for authenticity, creativity, and constant evolution. My brand is a testament to the journey of a dreamer who followed his passion, braved the odds, and continues to create art that speaks to people.

The core of my story revolves around the belief that art can inspire, provoke thought, and make a difference. It’s about staying true to oneself and using art to connect with people. I aim to create pieces that resonate with individuals, evoke emotions, and make them see the world through a different lens.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wholeheartedly agree that none of us reaches where we are without the assistance, encouragement, and influence of others. In my journey, there are countless individuals and experiences that have played crucial roles.

However, if I were to dedicate this shoutout to a single entity, it would be to my family. Their unwavering belief in me and my creative abilities, even in times of doubt and uncertainty, has been the bedrock of my artistic career. They have been my cheerleaders, my critics, and my support system, encouraging me to push boundaries and remain authentic in my work. They have taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and staying true to one’s passion, lessons that I carry with me in every endeavor.

In terms of external influences, the book ‘Steal Like an Artist’ by Austin Kleon has had a profound impact on my perspective towards creativity and originality. It taught me that nothing comes from nowhere, that all creative work builds on what came before, and that it’s okay to be influenced by others as long as you make it your own.

Finally, a shoutout to all the art lovers and supporters out there. It’s their appreciation and support that gives artists like me the courage to continue creating, experimenting, and expressing. They remind us that what we do matters, that art matters.
