We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Yi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sam, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learned so far is to not be afraid/or care about what others think or say. Throughout this process of starting a brand and also being a professional golfer, I’ve learned that you won’t be able to please everyone and not everyone is going to like what you come out with. Loving what you do and how you do it , is true success for me. If you love what you do, there is longevity written all over it, if you do not what you think others will like then I feel it is a temporary project.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a professional golfer first, and while I was competing I started my golf brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If someone visited me in Los Angeles, I would forsure take them around them to Venice beach, Italian food, korean food and Mexican food.

King taco, quarters kbbq and bestia Italian.

And of course we’d go play some amazing golf courses.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shout out to David Yungin Kim,

He inspires me to work harder and look at life in a graceful way.
