We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Hodge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
There is a since of creative freedom that comes from owing your own business, something that most people never will get to tap into. The freedom to not only incorporate your personality but the ability to leave your mark on culture and your beloved clients. Between that and being able to create a life that you want not revolving around a corporate setting is beautiful. I have three children and owning my own business has allotted me time to dedicate to each of them as well as myself. These thoughts were and are the driving force for owning my own business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The one thing that I want to stress first and foremost is that there is no growth without failure! I believe as people whether in life or business we need to change the thought process of what failure is. Failure isn’t a negative thing unless you give it that power. To me failure is a way to reinvent yourself/your business and make the best comeback! This is how Le Petit Reve was born. Le Petit Reve which means the “The Little Dream” in French is exactly what my business is! 12 years ago I broke away from being in corporate retail and I started a boutique of my own with a different name, style, what I offered and how I executed business. From that flop is how Le Petit Reve came to fruition but in between there were many bumps, closed doors, betrayals by a business partner, anything and everything you could imagine being a green business owner. I lost faith, got pissed off, quit a few times, rebranded a few time and essentially closed that business and took a break to recenter and rebalance. Essentially lick the wounds from my hurt ego. Fast forward to now and I can truly say having a supportive husband who financially let me take this leap again and work on my brand full time, the consistent guidance from my mom/life coach and a kick in the pants conversation from a friend is what has transformed me as a business owner. Le Petit Reve is a full fledge boutique with full service options for all of our clients from styling to closet revamps but most importantly providing sexy affordable confidence building lingerie and intimatewear for all women with all body types! Over the last 8 month we have transitioned from strictly a clothing boutique into offering women the most important pieces and first pieces of clothing that touches their skin!!! Lingerie, bras, panties and loungewear! We still personal style and do offer clothing to our private clients that include working women, restaurants, bar and lounges but we have found that there is a since of empowerment and beauty when you make a women feel sexy in her own skin at the core.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is such a hard question to answer. One because of the Coronavirus and the limitations imposed and because I am such a homebody! But if I had a friend come into town we would have a catered in evening with good food and wine! Maybe we would go support some small business events and go for a hike or two!!!! You can’t live in Colorado and not do something outdoorsy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be were I am now in my business and personal life without some very important and special people, my husband Evitt, my mother and life coach Deborah Foggio and a very encouraging friend Kristin Rossi!
