Meet Samantha Jacoby | CEO of Ginger Snap Inc.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Jacoby and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
art is a major driver for my healthy mindset. If I have creative freedom in what I am working on, then my brain will function at the highest capacity possible. I thrive in creative environments. I consider myself a vision partner to anyone I work with, and love to collaborate with other artistic creatives in any situation im in. I’ve worked very hard to get to where I am today. Creating revenue was something I learned how to do at a very early age and I always knew that starting my own business was eventually the route I needed to take. I worked many different jobs before I took the chance of starting my own business, and I started many businesses before I became a photographer. Not all doors were open for me, and I had to work really hard to show people what I am made of, what I am capable of, and what I love to do. I grew up in an environment where if I wanted something I need to work for it. My parents weren’t great with money, so If I wanted a car or a new pair of shoes I had to work for it. I always had a job if not 1 or 2 or 3, and my focus was always to learn and grow. I excel in environments that are rewarded with hard work. I always try to win the top sales contest, or the prize for out performing all others. I seek out situations where I can really rise to the top. My job is to stop time for people and I’m obsessed with it. There is no greater gift than to give someone a memory that will forever make them smile. I truly feel like I was put on this planet to this exact thing, and it’s part of the reason I can never put my camera down. Life is short, it goes by so fast, and moments are just that, they are moments. I am a moment hoarder and I like to think Im just sharing that with the world. One thing i’ve learned along the way, is that we get caught up worrying about where we could and should be and if we can really get to a place where we are grateful for where we are right now, then the bitterness goes away and true appreciation for the hard work we’ve put in so far, is always imminent. Being a mother is so very important to me and there is nothing I love more then looking back on the moments I’ve lived with my family. To be able to give that to other people is so very rewarding.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in So Cal. It is a beautiful place and because of what I do, I journey into lots of nooks and crannies to find beautiful locations. If we had a week I would want to start it at the beach. I would take them to either Manhattan beach or Ventura Pier and have lunch at Santorinis a greek restaurant in the Harbor Village, maybe rent a paddle boat and watch the sunset with an ice cream. I’d definitely want to take them to Abbott Kinney and do a little shopping and take some fun pics, eat at Kreation Kafe. I love Venice beach and the arts district of DTLA. I love a quiet night in the valley getting sushi at Yanagi Sushi in Northridge seeing a movie and getting some yummy donuts at Earls in Northridge. I love Yummy cupcakes in Burbank and getting Korean BBQ at Asahi. I love rollerblading on the boardwalk in Manhattan beach and taking pictures under the pier. I love taking walks at Orcuitt Ranch in the valley it’s a beautiful place to get lost in the old orange orchards there. I love eating breakfast at the Country Deli in Chatsworth.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Scott Rosen, COO of Equinox Fitness Clubs, Someone that always supported my journey, and has always been a cheerleader for me Has always had the right words to encourage me to alway be #1 at everything I do.
