We had the good fortune of connecting with Sammy Villanueva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sammy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well, HeRose The Men’s Mastermind LLC. did not start as a business. I actually created HeRose because I needed it myself. I was raised playing sports, I even had the honor of playing college football. I was also in a fraternity in college and each of these experiences brought the powerful positive energy of camaraderie. There is something special that happens when there is a group of me moving together for a greater good. After college as I entered the “real world” I found myself down and in a pretty dark place, I was alone. I was in need of good association, I was in need of good noble men around me pushing me to better. So, I did what many of us do when we need something, I did a Google search for “Men’s groups in Los Angeles” and I did not find what I was looking for, so I started a group I would want to be a part of. Over the years the group grew, and it has naturally transitioned into a business so that we can intentionally reach more men with as much value as possible. HeRose is a Men’s mastermind group focused on helping men defeat the inner self sabotaging villain and replace it with the HERO identity. We boldly stand together to form a safe environment that will cultivate abundance in our personal lives, business life, and our legacies.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
HeRose is unique and a bit different than most other masterminds and men’s groups out there. Most of these other groups tend to compartmentalize men into whatever category or section of life they are addressing. For example, there are business masterminds that only talk business, or groups that only focused on fitness. In HeRose we wanted to address the whole man, business, personal, and legacy. We could not form a mastermind just focused on business and sleep at night if we knew we had men in our mastermind whose marriages were falling apart. The world we live in as men is impacted by who we fully are. If we are a businessman with a family then it is inevitable that our business will be impacted by our family and vice versa. In HeRose we embrace this truth and we help men move into abundance and prosperity in all the aspects of their lives. Or as we call them, the Super Six of Life™, Health, Wealth, Relationships, Spiritual, Mental, and Adventure. We do this by journeying together through the HeRose Transformation Path™. This journey involves training courses, accountability calls, monthly challenges and a ton of fun. HeRose has seen some amazing organic growth but it definitely has not been easy. We applaud the bold men who are members of the mastermind and we look forward to the men who will join us in the future. We are just getting started, we will reach men all over the world and help them live as the HeRose they are meant to be.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I am definitely an LA kid for sure, born and raised in Los Angeles. I grew up in Eagle Rock and that is where my heart is, I love Northeast Los Angeles. Eagle Rock is like the small town hidden in the massive city of Los Angeles. Let’s see, we would definitely start at some great spots in Eagle Rock like Oinkster or Eagle Rock Brewery Public house. Both have some great food, beer, atmosphere and Public House has the best fish sandwich in Los Angeles. We would then hit some outdoor experience like hiking near the famous Hollywood sign or enjoying some cool views from my secret relaxing spot in Los Angeles, Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Yes, it’s a cemetery but it’s like none in the world, a ton of green rolling hills and trees everywhere, not to mention the views of the city are amazing. We would then visit my top two favorite libraries, because both are very cool and because I love books. The Huntington Library in San Marino is a peaceful and relaxing spot. and The Last Bookstore in downtown Los Angeles is one of the coolest spots in Los Angeles. You can’t complete a visit to Los Angeles without catching a live game so we would hit the brand new Los Angeles Rams stadium SoFi Stadium or Staples Center or Dodger stadium. After the game we would be hungry again so we would have to grab the best taquitos in Los Angeles from Cielito Lindo down on Olvera Street and after we could explore the amazing history and culture that Olver Street has to offer.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to send a shoutout to my super hero of a wife Gina Villanueva and my best friend and co founder of HeRose Brandon Holder. My wife has always supported and encouraged the idea of HeRose. Gina, you have shown me the transformational power of unconditional love, this is at the core of HeRose, and for that I am forever grateful. Thanks babe! I love you! To my brotha Brandon! HeRose would not be where we are today if it was not for the poise, peace and guidance you have given me over the years brother!
