Meet Samya Mohamed | Content Creator & Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samya Mohamed and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samya, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process started when I decided to engage in work that allowed me to speak my mind and showcase my creativity in ways that most formal jobs don’t offer. For me “structure” is very important, starting my own business was all about having the right formula and articulating it in a way that everyone would relate to or understand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel what sets me apart from others is the fact that I don’t just provide a service or content, I pride myself on building relationships with all the brands I work with as well as elevating my community by providing creator tips and business values.
I am proud of myself for making the finalist nominee list for Product review influencer of the year on the American Influencer Awards.
Getting to where I am today took a ton of effort. It was not easy. I started by helping friends with small businesses. My biggest challenge was mostly my confidence and being unsure if I was good enough for this industry. I overcame these obstacles by being open to learning from others and believing in myself.
started by perfecting my content, reaching out to brands, and building relationships even when they had no budget to compensate me for my work at the time. What I learned is that without having values for your business and building a structure for it, no one else will take it seriously. Brands treat you the way you treat your business. Critical tips that helped me grow the most, Timing, preparation, and asking questions. Share your content concept with the brands before creating your campaigns. One of my favorite sayings ” “Treat your business like a business and it’ll PAY you like a business.”
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I generally stay in New York City most of the time so I usually love these restaurants in New York.
“Philippe chow downtown they have a beautiful atmosphere and delicious Beijing-Inspired Cuisine I love the bar experience and the staff is amazing.
“Pergola which provides a Mediterranean and local influences in a contemporary ambiance and super fun vibes overall, its one of my favorite hangout spots with friends, and they also have the best Hookah in the city.
“La grande boucherie is also my favorite French cuisine spot. Every time I go it feels like a tiny tour of France.
“Fats duvall’s rhum cafe has vibrant Latin-Caribbean cuisine and a cool drink selection.
“Milk Bar for the best ice cream.
For adventures, I recommend the Inverted Art Museum, it’s very entertaining and artsy.
Blue Man Group for music and a colorful experience. Rockefeller State Park Preserve for my love of hiking. For more scenic locations I would say, Top of the Rock NYC Observation Deck.
Time Warner Building. One World Observatory. and Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
