Meet Sara Robinson | Candlemaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sara, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Life has definitely moved to the front of my balancing act when managing work and life. I thrive on staying busy – but due to some unexpected health issues I realize that I need to throw a bit of self care into my daily routine. While eating right and excercise are a priority – I’m also taking time to read, journal and learn how to knit!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The candles I create reflect my love of simple, classic styles with a focus on flavors and florals. All candles are hand poured by me providing a unique product in size, shape and color. Made with 100% soy wax for an eco-friendly, clean burn. Floral embed toppers use 100% beeswax. All of our candles are made using all-natural cotton wicks and premium phalate-free frangrances infused with natural essential oils.
Candle making started out in 2020 as a hobby, turned into gifts for friends, and then noelle rose studio was born. I never would’ve thought that I’d go from working in the entertainment industry to this but I truly enjoy it. The candle market is very competitive so I focus on creating unique pieces with floral embeds. Additionally, continuing to grow my brand across social media and in the pop up marketplace is a priority.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I feel so fortunate to have been living in the South Bay community here in LA so I’d make sure to include some of my favorite spots in this neighborhood. A day in my neighborhood would start with a coffee stop at Revrent in Rolling Hills Estates (the Reverie), followed by a walk with my doggie at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center to hopefully see some whales and the beautiful lighthouse. We would then make our way up to Hermosa Beach for breakfast at Martha’s. Cheesy eggs, please! We’d walk around the Strand to see all the beautiful homes, our amazing beach and the gorgeous view of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Next we’d head up to Manhattan Beach and tour around all the cute shops and boutiques downtown. I have a weak spot for my favorite bookstore, Pages, so I’d be sure to pop in there for a new read. We had a big breakfast so we’ll just have a treat at Handel’s Ice Cream in Manhattan Village – I only EVER get Graham Central Station – why choose any other flavor? (Although I’m told Banana Cream Pie is fab). We’d head back to my home in Palos Verdes and make our way to Terranea for some cocktails and to watch the sunset over Catalina. We’d complete the night with a driving tour of the spectacularly illuminated Los Angeles Harbor and dinner at Trani’s Dockside – make sure to get the stuffed squash blossoms!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In my short time in business – I’ve been fortunate to be welcomed into a community of small business owners here in Los Angeles. More specifically – small female owned businesses. These women have been incredibly supportive, encouraging and I look forward to seeing them at every event we do together.
And of course, a special shoutout to my family and friends – I’m grateful for them cheering me on everyday.
