We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Elaziz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always known at a young age that I was going to be in the Beauty Industry. Not just as an artist, or business manager for large brands, but truly Invade the Industry & leave my mark. After serving 17 years in the industry, I felt that it was time to pursue creating my own beauty line. I started with La Bhanga (@labhanga) a Clean, Luxury CBD Skincare Line. Combining my passion for beauty & cannabis I started the creation of La Bhanga in 2015- well before it became a new beauty trend. My understanding of the Cannabis Plant from seed-to- product in combination with my savviness & passion for beauty led me to believe that I was truly onto something- the “future of beauty”. I started with creating at home body products using organic ingredients & pure extracts of CBD oil from plants in my garden. Shortly after in 2016 I started the formulation development for skincare. I partnered up with an amazing scientist & from there the true hustle began. As you are aware Skincare is highly competitive & the Industry started to pick up on the “new wave”. Before I could blink the top giants were creating CBD everything! After continuous & continuing daily marketing to get the brand out, I realized I had to take a different approach for La Bhanga to become more recognized. Thats where the birth of Sculptery started. I have always had an eye for products that would be a hit, ingredients, treatments, etc. I also knew that this was something no one else could offer how I could. I also knew that it would be another instant way of creating more brand awareness to La Bhanga. My goal has been and always will be to invade the industry and leave my mark. Create beauty that is unique & delivers true results.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The growth of Sculptery has truly been amazing to watch & experience. To see everyone really embrace the brand & fall in love with the results has truly been one of the best feelings ever. The beauty Industry especially Body Sculpting is very saturated. Although there are many versions of Wood Therapy, there is no version like Sculptery’s. It took 3 years to perfect our protocol that truly delivers the Best Permanent Results. I think what sets Sculptery apart from others asides from the quality of the treatments is that I am not selling treatments. I am not selling at all when interacting with my clients. I truly treat them like family & I really try to create a moment with them. Our own moment. The treatments are so intimate that I believe creating a genuine connection makes all the difference. I offer an experience not just a treatment. Plus I’m always me. I think its important to remain authentic and true to yourself. Remain real, especially in Hollywood. Some of my most proud moments was opening my Beverly Hills Location. I started Sculptery publicly in 2019 and for a year I started out offering house calls. Driving all around LA! Pre-pandemic, so you can imagine the daily hours stuck in traffic. I would have 6-8 clients a day sometimes; so you can imagine. From Calabasas to Beverly Hills, then to Pasadena and back. I would literally be all over. It definitely wasn’t easy and there wasn’t any glamour involved in the process. lol. Carrying a massage bed and duffle bag with supplies in & out of 6-8 houses a day- the struggle was REAL. But I loved every moment of it! I wouldn’t change it. The struggle & hustle pushes you. Being uncomfortable makes you grow & I appreciate every moment of it. With COVID hitting us hard I had to come up with another way to keep the brand growing. All personal services being shut down really affected the timing of my location opening up. So I decided to start selling SELF SCULPTING Kits for people to self sculpt at home. I began to think of ways to keep the engagement going during quarantine. I think its important to challenge yourself. Whenever I start to feel like I’m getting to comfortable, I always take a step back & view my brand how I used to with brands I worked for. I start to think of new ways to create good attention towards the brand. One thing I imbedded in myself at a young age is no matter what, just never give up. One lesson I learned at an early is that hard work never goes un-noticed. It doesn’t matter if its 2 years later or 10, if you are consistent you will reach success. Ive learned that the struggles through the come up are designed to shape you to reach your maximum potential. They’re designed to push you not break you. The most important thing is to never give up. Once you feel like giving up is the minute you start to disrespect your dreams & those who believe in you. I want the world to know that this is just the beginning. I plan to expand Sculptery & La Bhanga Globally. I want the Beauty Industry to remember my name. I’m coming for you 🙂
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
omg this is not my question lol I have been in Los Angeles for only 1.5 years and 1 year of it was the pandemic. Fun lane is home lol. However I would take them to get Berrys Lobster Pizza, Portos for everything! & Nobu for some exquisite sushi. I would find an awesome hiking trail and take them on a hike. I have barely experienced Los Angeles yet! As soon as I touched down I hit the ground running with work and haven’t stopped since.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m honestly tearing up writing this because there have been many people that have really contributed to my success. My friends, family, clients, my followers, every influencer, & Celebrity that has ever posted me or showed me love. They all are a part of my joy, success & they push me to work harder. However there is one person who has been not only a cheer leader but my gasoline when my energy torch is starting to run out- My sister Hagar Elaziz- Owner of La Fleur Bouquets. Not because she is my sister- but because she has been through the grind with me. Through every frustrating moment, every struggle, through everything. She never lets me doubt myself or give up no matter how hard the task is. When you have people in your corner that believe in you and your dreams just as much as you do, you not only owe it to yourself to accomplish those goals, you owe it to them. I truly believe that we should never take the ENERGY of those around your for granted. Having the access to certain people’s energy, time- all that is a privilege. The minute we loose site of that is the minute we become numb to living. We take everything around us for granted, instead of being grateful for those moments or people. I know she would probably say the same thing about me but she knows, and one day soon I will be able to truly share with everyone how she truly has been there for me & is a key role in my success.
