We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Molasky and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You could say my career as a stunt woman is risky. I find myself in challenging and nerve racking situations always thinking about the risk and danger involved. It is important for me to be honest with my capabilities so I ask myself, “Is this stunt one I know I can perform safely without any major injuries. to myself or others” If I’m confident in myself and the task at hand then I’m happy to take on the risk and usually find it quite thrilling.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My grandfather took me to see Cirque Du Soleil when I was five or six. I knew immediately that is what I wanted to become when I grew up. I went home and started jumping on the furniture forcing my parents to enroll my into gymnastics. Although I was never the best gymnast I had enough talent to compete Collegiately and enough passion to make my dream come true landing me a position in the creation of Franco Dragone’s, Le Reve. Creating Le Reve and being able to perform with the best artist from around the world was even better than a dream coming true. Le Reve is French for The Dream and I became their dreamer. I never imagined being the lead in a Las Vegas show performing with my best friends and inspiration. I grew as a performer and still dream of that time in my life because it was so unbelievable. But I now learned that dreams come true if you work hard enough so I set off to challenge myself with something new and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in stunts. I started training various forms of martial arts, weapons, stunt driving courses, pilates and other fun things. I was extremely comfortable performing in the water since Le Reve was a water spectacle. We were scuba certified and I was their high diver dropping from as high as 75 feet. I also spent countless hours in a harness mastering my body control. It comes in handy, especially in zero-g movies. The transition from Cirque to stunts was not easy but fortunately my skills backed me up and I was able to find myself living a second dream as a stunt woman. I couldn’t believe when I was working inside the arena of The Hunger Games or being thrashed around in Jurassic world by the Pterodactyls and eaten by that massive water dinosaur. Another career highlight was working as an Avenger n the Marvel Universe as a stunt double for the Scarlet Witch. I love the challenges this career brings and the constant learning and training it requires.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a fan of dinning local and not getting caught in LA traffic. I currently live in Manhattan Beach so there is no shortage of beaches and great restaurants. I love supporting local businesses and Playa Hermosa Fish & Oyster Co. is one of my favorites.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I watched Cirque Du Soleil as a young girl on the Santa Monica Pier and it inspired me to one day perform on their stage. I want to give a shout out to Cirque Du Soleil and all the arts for putting that fire inside me to become part of the impossible. Of course my dream wouldn’t have come true unless it be for the support of family, coaches, teammates and fellow artists.
