Risk has played a big role in my career, I believe it is an important factor to success. When I started my business it was probably the biggest risk I took on in my life. In the beginning, I used all of my savings, took out a loan for beauty school, and every dollar I earned was being reinvested back into my business. Before I invested my savings, I was under the impression I had a backup source of income just in case I wasn’t any good doing eyelash extensions, but it fell through. So when that happened, I told myself “I have no choice but to be great” You have to release a bit of vulnerability and believe you got this. Once I started seeing the demand and appreciation of my work, I became more confident in myself and more confident in taking on bigger risks. However, over the years I’ve learned to never risk more than what I am willing to lose.

Studio Sohn is my beauty salon specializing in eyelashes and eyebrows, located in Sherman Oaks. One of the things that set my business apart from others is detail. I do a style consultation, explain the process, provide an after care kit and list, do thorough work to ensure the natural lash does not get damaged, and I make sure to use the best products. Also the glue I use for eyelash extensions is the only glue sold that is oil proof and water proof, when normally you have to wait 24-48 hrs to get them wet and avoid all oily products.

Well pre-covid, I loved going out, but now since most places are closed, I mainly go out to eat. In Malibu theres this cute restaurant called Paradise Cove Beach Cafe where you can eat with the sand beneath your feet, or rent a private cabana on the beach. For city views I love Castaway in Burbank or Yamashiro in Hollywood.

I would like to thank my support system and my clients. My support system is my family and friends. They get me through my tough days, lend out a helping hand (or face as a model), and help me enjoy the good things in life. My clients helped me get to where I am today, their loyalty and choice to come to me and come back to me for years is an appreciation I can’t explain. Honestly anyone who has ever supported me deserves a thank you, even if they weren’t my clients, there are those kind people who take down cards, tell their friends, or share an instagram post – those are ones who support with out anything to gain and I thank every one of you if you read this.
