We had the good fortune of connecting with Sasha Sounds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sasha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My journey into ASMR started very personally. I’ve used it for years to help me sleep, manage stress, and create calm in a noisy world. Over time, I realized how powerful it was not just for me, but for so many others looking for peace, rest, and comfort. That’s what sparked the initial idea, to create the kind of content I wished existed more of.

I’ve always been drawn to the idea of having a voice online not just literally through ASMR, but in a way that people could connect with and find comfort in. There’s something incredibly meaningful about knowing that my voice might be helping someone fall asleep or ease their anxiety.

At the same time, I wanted to be on the creator side of the internet. We spend so much time consuming content I really felt the urge to flip that dynamic and contribute something intentional and soothing into the space. It felt empowering to build something of my own, especially something that could grow into a business. Being able to make money doing something I love, in my free time, just made the whole thing even more rewarding.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
ASMR, to me, is more than just soft sounds or whispering it’s an art form rooted in empathy. My content is about connection, calm, and creating a safe space for people to rest and recharge. What sets my work apart is the intentional energy I bring to it. I don’t just record sounds, I hope to create experiences. I want viewers to feel like the content was made for them.. personal, thoughtful, and real.
Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. Leaving behind the structure of a corporate job to pursue something more creative and uncertain was a leap and with it came a lot of self-doubt, learning curves, and the challenge of staying motivated without instant results. But I overcame those hurdles by staying true to my vision, showing up consistently, and reminding myself why I started, to bring calm into a world that often feels chaotic.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that this kind of journey doesn’t come with instant satisfaction and that’s okay. It takes time to grow, to be seen, and to refine your craft. I had to learn to keep going even when results weren’t immediate, and to trust that consistent effort would pay off.

I also realized that my work matters even if it doesn’t always feel loud or flashy, it can still have a quiet, meaningful impact. And just as importantly, my time matters. Leaving the corporate world taught me to value how I spend my energy and to be intentional about building something aligned with who I am.

Another surprising lesson? You can learn so much for free. YouTube became my unofficial classroom from improving sound quality to editing techniques to business strategies. Little by little, I got better. That’s something I’d love for people to take away from my story: you don’t have to have it all figured out to start you just have to begin and be willing to learn along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Melrose for shopping eating, Brunch at The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker (West Hollywood) and into the late nights I have alot of friends who work in West Hollywood and we dance the night away bar hopping there! To get some unique Beach day at Malibu or Griffith Observatory

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Lewis Howes for giving me the value that I can too make a difference and start now, keep going, and you will succeed. Alot of his content is motivational and spirited towards manifesting positive outcomes.
Shoutout to Latte ASMR, she was my OG for watching videos to help me fall asleep and still to this day I pass out in five minutes from her content, her style is similar to what I enjoy filming myself.
