We had the good fortune of connecting with Kahli Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kahli, is there something you believe many others might not?
Having a plan. People have always told me “have a plan” or “what’s your plan?” and honestly I’ve never really had one. I definitely have a lot of ideas, but no plan is the best plan. All things align when they are suppose to sometimes we need to just let go to let them all into place.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Firstly, anything worth while is never easy. Especially. starting a business and being self employed. You never get to clock in or out and that can be a blessing and a curse! I think you can always tell when someones truly LOVES what they do for a living, and I absolutely love what I do. I’m so grateful and thankful to have the job I do and I remind myself that everyday, I take nothing for granted even on the hard days. Staying positive, working hard and being a good person will really come back in the long run. Be true to yourself and your business
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am an Echo Park resident and this is where my business is too, and I LOVE my neighborhood. This is the perfect place to show someone a great time! I would start our morning with my favorite coffee shop in EP, Woodcat, grab an coffee and maybe walk around Eylsian Park. Later you could walk Sunset Blvd and check out some of the vintage/shops. Grab a drink at Bar Flores, then probably get the BEST plant based burger downstairs at LowBoy. Follow it up by walking around Echo Park Lake, and ending you night riding in the swan boats Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely being involved with the tattoo industry from a young age really helped me when I got into cosmetic tattooing. Now after years of cosmetic tattooing becoming more and more popular, it has created its own community that is so supportive and positive, and I’m proud to be apart of it.
