We had the good fortune of connecting with Saundeurs Shiloff (Aleksander Graham) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Saundeurs, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to be in control of my life and career in a way that no employer could ever do for me. Theres a certain satisfaction to owning the business instead of working for it. Its motivation to work that much harder because you are in full control of everything!

The business in particular PYRE started with an idea to free people from the crushing and debilitating algorithm that kills my friends and other artists careers, we here at PYRE stand for progression and freedom of the music in a way thats completely new and fresh!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The music industry is a business, flat out. Once you begin to treat your career like a business you will begin to see results. People these days are so desperate to be heard by the “right people” but the truth is that when your product is worthy the right people will walk into your life! Ive been signed to 6 labels and one of those labels is one of the biggest in dubstep, keep an eye out in December…

The absolute biggest challenge was overcoming the realization that this isnt a game and none of these people are your friends; they are your coworkers. You are no longer a person but a product; products don’t have opinions or feelings. This is a very difficult thing to grasp and I almost quit because it was such a hard pill to swallow.

You must choose to make music your job; its not fun and games its very serious. It aint about “getting lit with your homies” these festivals and shows are work and business meetings. Stop treating the scene like a party and more like a work environment because thats truly what it is, and how mostly everyone in the pro world sees it.

My brand is years of dedication, failure, and then success. My brand symbolizes the fire within, and even extends to HECC, like the fires of hell that burn so intensely, just like the fire inside me for the music I create. Learning to embrace your inner darkness and letting it flow is a key factor to my creative process. For PYRE, we are trying to free the music and give artists back their platform that other platforms are taking away for their own greed; music is a business and other platforms are doing bad business.. Destroying artists careers because you don’t want people to see their new release EVEN IF they pay for it is absolutely shameful and ill keep speaking out against that forever. They wont silence me or stop me. PYRE is here to take back the music scene, and end the corporate

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Assuming its thursday, first stop Beverly Hills and take in the beauty of Rodeo Road, then off to Nobu in Malibu for Lunch! Then off to the serene location of Thousand Oaks for the studio!

Friday would be a beach day! Santa Monica Pier for the win! Everyone needs to see it once! Then off to Sunlife Organics for a Billionare Bowl (so healthy and so good for you!) Then go to Hollywood for Avalon Nightclub or Academy Nightclub! Always got world class talent at those places! We could check into the W hotel which is one of the most beautiful hotels in hollywood!

Saturday would be a day to actually see Hollywood and see the walk of fame! Even though I lived there for years its still a cool spot and more often than not theres some action to take in like filming or exotic cars causing a ruckus! Then either the club Avalon or Academy whichever we did not do the previous night! Maybe we move to a different hotel, like Andaz, absolutely gorgeous views and the sunset is to die for!

Sunday funday! Beverly Center calls our name with luxury shops and sophisticated vibes, nightlife is still no joke in hollywood because we have SuperStation at Station 1640 which features 3 channels of DJs outside on the patio and inside a full VOID Acoustics Airmotion system and many sick underground acts.

Monday will be more serious as we take a look at some high end audio systems at Vintage King like Barefoot Sound, Focal, Ocean Way, PMC, Ex Machina, and many more! If audio ain’t your thing theres always the Marina Del Rey to see the beautiful waterside view, even at night watching the boats go by!

Tuesday we can do some fine dining back in Malibu with Maestro’s, where we will have caviar and Wagyu tomahawk steaks! Blue Rare please!

Wednsday you will probably be so tired from all my adventures you will probably want to stay inside so ordering some DoorDash from Stonefire Grill would be absolutely choice; The Beef Tri tips with Gorganzola Butter is absolutely to die for!

Thursday you will be checking the prices of apartments and looking for jobs in the area so you dont have to go home, as I drop you back off at the airport. Thank you for the wonderful time! See you again soon!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To be quite honest, Revolver Recordings in Thousand Oaks which has been my home the last year has been an incredibly transformative time. Working at a real Sony studio which has held greats like Avril Lavigne, OneRepublic, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, Fleetwood Mac, Alicia Keys, and Crazy Town, which now we have a song together that has gathered over 15k plays in the short 6 days of release! I owe a huge thank you to Brett Pemberton of Prophecy Productions and Mikal Blue which is the owner of Revolver Recordings. The skills I learned as an artist and socially have been absolutely key to my success as an artist. As far as others go, my boy Cazzuto (Felix Galvan) has been A1 since Day 1 and has been a right hand in many things. His help with the stage at Maypop Music Festival was absolutely invaluable. I would also like to thank TLUXX (Brian Johnson) for introducing me to the Revolver Recordings team! Theres a great deal of others as well but they know who they are! All.my support does not go unnoticed!
