Meet Sayuri Miki | Multifaceted Entrepreneur & International Business Coordinator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sayuri Miki and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sayuri, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In 2017, I came to Los Angeles from Japan as an international student. As a Japanese person in a completely foreign environment, I didn’t have a grand vision or specific goals—I simply acted on impulse and excitement. My lack of English skills made it difficult to access important information, and I quickly realized how challenging it was to adapt to life abroad.
I also noticed something about Japanese culture: we often value self-reliance over mutual support, even within our own communities. This reinforced the idea that everything was my responsibility, a concept deeply ingrained in our culture.
My motivation to start a business stemmed from wanting to support other Japanese people living in Los Angeles who faced similar challenges. However, as I talked to my non-Japanese friends, I realized they were struggling too. Many of them were incredibly creative and hardworking, but the high cost of rent in Los Angeles made it almost impossible for them to have a space to build their dreams.
Unlike them, I don’t have any creative talents to produce something unique or artistic. But I do excel at organization and administrative tasks. That’s when I decided to step in and support them. My thought process was simple: let them focus on their creativity, and I’ll handle the overwhelming business side of things. It’s a partnership where we each play to our strengths, creating something greater than what we could achieve individually.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is centered around supporting creatives and entrepreneurs by taking care of the tedious administrative tasks and complicated processes that often weigh them down. What sets me apart is my focus on enabling their creativity to flourish by allowing them to concentrate fully on what they do best. Seeing the results of their unleashed creativity brings me immense satisfaction because I genuinely look forward to the incredible things they create.
One key lesson I’ve learned is that efficiency and collaboration are the foundation of success. When people focus on their strengths and trust others to handle the rest, the potential for growth is limitless.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s built on a philosophy of empowerment. I believe in creating systems and support that allow others to thrive. My ultimate goal is to be a partner who helps ideas come to life while celebrating the creativity and innovation of those I work with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When planning a visit for my best friend, I always start by considering what they’re interested in and what they’d like to do. Instead of making assumptions, I make sure to ask about their preferences.
For example, one of my best friends is a pharmacist, an avid reader, and, like me, a mom to a toddler. For her, I’d plan activities that are enjoyable for both kids and adults. We’d visit one of LA’s amazing family-friendly libraries, like the Huntington Library or the Central Library in Downtown LA, where there are children’s sections and storytime events. We’d also stop by a cozy bookstore like The Last Bookstore to browse some hidden treasures.
Depending on the season, I’d look up family-friendly events happening in the area, like farmers’ markets or outdoor movie screenings. For food, we’d keep it casual and fun, enjoying classic LA staples like In-N-Out Burger, authentic street tacos, or maybe a picnic at Griffith Park where the kids can run around while we catch up.
Ultimately, the focus would be on creating a relaxed and enjoyable experience tailored to her lifestyle, balancing moments of exploration with spaces where the kids can play and the adults can connect.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my husband. He has been my unwavering support system, especially when my ADHD-like tendencies make life a little chaotic. His patience and encouragement allow me to thrive in both my personal and professional life.
I also want to give a heartfelt thank-you to my family in Japan. Coming from a family of small business owners, where very few are traditional corporate employees, I grew up witnessing resilience, creativity, and a relentless drive to make things happen. These lessons shaped my mindset and inspired me to embrace challenges and take ownership of my journey.
Lastly, I am grateful for the philosophy that prioritizes action over hesitation. Success doesn’t come from waiting for perfect conditions—it’s about starting, learning, and adapting as you go. To everyone who has been part of my story, I thank you for your influence and guidance.
