Meet Sedona Legge | Designer, Actor, Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sedona Legge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sedona, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Creative pursuits were really the only option for me in order to feel successful and like I was contributing.  It’s the arena I thrived in at school, and it has always kept my restless spirit aligned.  I found my worth through my art.  I was one of those kids in school who found a desk, and four walls, anything but soothing.  I’m just thankful that there was an alternative path for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My brand, Chained by Sedona, evolved from my love of fashion and my exposure as a fashion model to several iconic fashion houses including Gucci, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Rodarte. The more opportunities I had to observe these fabulously talented artistic teams, the more enthralled I became with the idea of creating.

Although I understood the acting and modelling world, I was completely new to the designing world. We had to learn everything from the ground up. After creating the designs, it was a question of how to get them in editorials, how to get them on celebrities, and ultimately how to market them for sale. I owe so much to stylists, photographers, make-up and hair artists, and magazine editors who have reached down to help me make this happen. I often wonder if they know how grateful I am for their support and love.

Launching a brand is no easy feat, and we are constantly learning, and it is so important to continually evolve and create designs that capture the imagination of our customers.

My hope is that I am creating designs that are as unique as the individuals who wear them. Nothing we do is mass produced and each design is hand made by me to custom fit each person who is daring enough to wear them. They are created for maximum impact when you walk into a room, so they are fashioned as bold statement pieces.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend, Wonita, will be visiting in December from Sydney, Australia. I’m super excited to introduce her to new sites and experiences in Los Angeles. Our first outing will actually be to Hangar 18 for some free climbing (rock Climbing). I also want to introduce her to pole dancing which is really catching on and is something that I would like to get good at. We’re vegan, so I can’t wait to take her to Nic’s on Beverly, Sun Kitchen, and Sage Bistro for great vegan food. Hopefully we will be able to catch a live show at Venue 1720 while she is here, and lastly, a trip to Melrose Flea Market.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is a great opportunity to “shout out” gratitude to my mother, Stacy Waddell, who is my business partner in Chained by Sedona because she saw something in me that I had not yet discovered in myself. She urged me to turn my first design into a business and helped make that happen. She has always been my team-mate with acting, modeling, and wisdom and insights. The support of both my parents, and the value they placed on me finding my “true” calling, has been invaluable.
