We had the good fortune of connecting with Seta Injeyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Seta, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I aspired to pursue an artistic career driven by the natural creative flow within me.

I liked the idea of being truly independent in my decision making process.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My artworks encapsulate an introspective odyssey wherein the constracts of time and space transcend their conventional significance.
In my earlier work on the roads, I had created the genre Perspective Surrealism, whereby the conscious and unconscious minds aroused by images that are rife with symbolic structure and a visual poetry that resonate with a unified voice.

Amazingly, throughout the years, my work on the roads led me to the workings of the inner body. Thus I started my journey with the magnificent organ, the heart, followed by other marvelous and inspiring organs, such as the liver, the kidneys, the brain, etc., but what mostly interested me was the fact that these organs offered connections with nature; e.g.,Lungs as breathing trees, eyes as black holes, that are governed by four dimensions of space and time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am immensely indebted to my parents for their unwavering belief in me and wholehearted support. During my academic journey at the Art Center College of Design, the invaluable guidance of my instructors, Richard Diebenkorn and Lorser Feitelson, played a pivotal role in enhancing my self-confidence as an artist. In my ongoing artistic endeavors, my husband, a physicist, continues to be a steadfast source of encouragement and a wonderful companion with whom I can freely exchange creative ideas. Amidst the vast landscape of modern artists, the work of René Magritte has particularly captivated my imagination.
