Hi Shamar, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks has profoundly shaped my life’s trajectory. It began with the pivotal decision to step away from the traditional path by dropping out of college. Despite initial uncertainties, I recognized the need to carve my own journey and explore uncharted territories. Seeking stability, I worked as a tennis instructor, but a persistent inner voice urged me to embrace entrepreneurship. The allure of the unknown pushed me to quit my job and embark on a daring new venture.

Venturing into entrepreneurship was not without its challenges. It demanded resilience, adaptability, and unwavering belief in my abilities. Yet, the risks I took opened up a world of possibilities, propelling me to push beyond my comfort zone and experience significant personal growth. I realized that risk-taking not only transformed my life but also had a profound impact on the world. Risk-takers are the trailblazers, challenging the status quo and inspiring others to dream big.

Choosing the path of risk over comfort has been a gateway to countless opportunities and life-altering experiences. It has taught me that true fulfillment lies outside the boundaries of familiarity. My journey as a creative has been nothing short of transformative, opening doors and presenting opportunities I never thought possible. Through my passion for creativity, I have traveled the world, encountering diverse cultures, forming meaningful connections, and expanding my networks. These experiences have not only enriched my life but have also led to lifelong friendships that I cherish deeply. This creative path has granted me the life I always envisioned for myself, and while I may not be where I ultimately strive to be, I am grateful for the journey that has brought me this far.

Being raised in a non-affluent family, I witnessed the potential challenges that lay ahead if I followed the traditional path. It was this realization that compelled me to forge my own way and seize control of my destiny. I understood the importance of recognizing opportunities when they presented themselves and fully maximizing their potential. The path I chose as a creative has been far from easy, but it has empowered me to shape my own narrative and manifest the life I desire.

As I continue on this journey, I am aware that there will be hurdles to overcome and sacrifices to make. Yet, the fulfillment and personal growth I have experienced along the way far outweigh any temporary setbacks. I am determined to continue embracing every opportunity that arises, pushing boundaries, and reaching for new heights. This path of self-discovery and creative expression has empowered me to take ownership of my life and create a future that aligns with my dreams and aspirations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting the beautiful island of St. Lucia, I would be thrilled to showcase the wonders that this Caribbean gem has to offer. First and foremost, I would take them to our pristine beaches, where the turquoise waters and soft sand create a paradise-like setting. We would explore the stunning waterfalls and immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the island. A visit to the Sulphur Springs mineral bath would be a must, as it provides a unique and rejuvenating experience amidst the geothermal wonders.

To truly appreciate the island’s natural splendor, I would guide them through the Tet Paul Nature Trail, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the lush landscapes and iconic Pitons, towering volcanic peaks that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And of course, no visit to St. Lucia would be complete without indulging in our mouthwatering street food. From savory local delicacies to freshly caught seafood, the island’s street food scene is a vibrant tapestry of flavors that showcases the rich culinary heritage and organic ingredients sourced from the island itself.

In reflecting on my journey, I realize that it’s impossible to attribute it to a single factor or individual. There have been countless moving parts and people who have contributed to shaping my path. However, I would like to express my gratitude for the authentic interactions I’ve had with those whom I believe God has placed in my life. It is through these genuine connections, the support, guidance, and shared experiences that I have grown and flourished. I am truly thankful for the impact each person has had on my journey, and I recognize the role they have played in shaping the person I am today.
