Meet Shawn Karimian: Attorney at Law

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawn Karimian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shawn, how do you think about risk?
I think risk a necessary and uncomfortable reality of starting your own business and brand. There are certainly different levels of risks that present themselves on an entrepreneur’s journey. Some risks are more easily manageable and digestible. Other risks can have catastrophic outcomes if they do not properly work themselves out. I typically like to assess the risk by contemplating different outcomes that the risk might have, how the outcome would hinder or detract from my goals, and if I will get closer to where I want to be if the risk works out. There is always a cost/benefit analysis that I do when it comes down to determining if taking a particular risk is worth it. The risks I have taken in my career are, without a doubt, a major reason that I am currently in my position. Calculated risks, no matter how scary, can be extremely rewarding. It requires belief, planning, and execution until the goal is achieved. Taking a calculated risk can have more rewards than detriment.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I became officially licensed, I immediately started my own practice. I always envisioned myself being a modern type of attorney, one that is more relatable and understanding of clients, their issues, and their life situations. Often times, the human factor gets lost in the procedure of the work. Clients tend to become file numbers and cease to be treated and looked at like individuals in the midst of a difficult time. I wanted a firm that encompassed that belief. Based on this vision, I founded the Karimian Law Group on the principle that all clients are individually valued and of importance. I wanted a law firm where all clients could have trust, faith, and confidence in their legal matter and legal representation. Based on this vision and principle, I have been able to successfully advocate for the rights of clients while continuing to maintain empathy and understanding. It is not easy to maintain the course and vision that you start with. It is very easy to get lost in the chaos of building and the work that goes into it. I could not overcome these challenges without self-belief and the support of my loved ones and staff. This is a team industry and I could not have been able to accomplish as much all by myself. I have learned that maintaining your core principles and beliefs is extremely important to staying true to your mission statement and vision. It is so easy to divert from the path or change the plan all together when things get difficult. We care about the client and their outcomes first and foremost. Most clients that come to us typically are coming because something difficult and bad happened to them. It is our job to help the client navigate that stress and resolve the matter as best as we possibly can, and to the satisfaction of the client.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many names that I can mention that have helped me along the way. Of course my friends and colleagues that have supported me and helped me through the navigation of this journey thus far. I have learned so much along the way from so many people. A special thank you to Cheri for being the best support I can ask for. My family has been extremely instrumental in being a foundation and support for me as well. Without them, I would not be in this position. Thank you to My Mom, Dad, Sister, and Brother in law for being there for me always. Last but not least, My Wife, who has always been my biggest supporter and cheer leader since I have met her. My wife is my peace and sanity through the chaos. Without her love and support, I would not be able to sustain.
