We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheila LaCivita and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheila, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My business started in the last recession. I was working in a law firm, law firms were downsizing, payroll was cut across the board, I was a single mom, so I panicked. I immediately began the process of starting 4 Corners Deposition Summaries and over ten years later we have grown into a successful company and are very proud to be servicing some of the best trial lawyers out there.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are most proud of being the best in the business. To get there, it took a lot of work/trial and error to know how to recruit top notch workers and 10 years later we have nailed it. Having the best-of-the-best on our legal team, we have dedicated ourselves to helping trial lawyers fight for justice in our community and finding ways to give back to our community through volunteer work and donations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hands down, our hometown Manhattan Beach. Best beaches and restaurants, not to mention the down-to-earth people and businesses. It is the home of professional volley ball and a lot of our beloved sports professionals.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Coming from a military family, shout out to my father for instilling discipline, work ethics, and raising me like I was in boot camp. To my mom for being competitive, driven, and teaching me the same. To my son who has given me the biggest reasons for wanting to succeed. To our first big clients that put us on the map and to all of our clients that have helped our community. To our dedicated employees that make our company the best. Last but not least, to my colleagues, fellow CEOs and business owners for all of your support and advice. Everyone that has touched my life in one way or another, I would not be here without you.
