We had the good fortune of connecting with Sho-Joung Kim-Wechsler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sho-Joung, what is the most important factor behind your success?
When we launched If So, What? Art Fair festival in San Francisco in 2018, we were amazed by the support and enthusiasm of the people in the Bay Area and realized how powerful art can be to bring communities together. We created XVERSO to bring the aspect of trust, community, and art into one platform. Blockchain was a natural choice for us as it solves the trust aspect for buying and selling digital art. XVERSO is a community platform to interact with your favorite artists, invest in their art and supporting artists to build and promote their career and income model. The more successful the artist becomes, the more successful the investors/collectors. We are selective who we bring on as we are more than just a blockchain marketplace: we support our artists to be commercially successful within the art ecosystem (digital and non-digital).

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We launched XVERSO in the summer of 2022, and we are excited about the growth of our platform and increasing popularity. Working with artists is the most rewarding and inspirational part of my work. Experiencing their creativity, their thought processes and bringing their art to live is my passion and supporting our artists is our mantra. We want to become the go to platform for artists to promote, exhibit, and sell their works in new and innovative ways.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For LA: without a doubt hanging out in Venice Beach, my go to favorite spot

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many that have supported, mentored and deserve recognition. But if I need to reduce to 1 person, I would like to give my shoutout to art collector Dwight Smith from Kansas City who’s collection is focused on diversity and especially women of color. He has been a huge inspiration and support in our journey.
