Meet Simone Feroci | bass player, composer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Feroci and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Simone, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Belief in the vision is what I consider to be the most important factor. As a musician, when I release songs I try my best to not dwell too much on whether people will like them or not, as long as I believe my works are a testament to my musicianship. In the past I used to frown when my releases’s reception wasn’t what I hoped for, but now I associate releasing music with putting myself out there, and I like to think my music tangibly backs up my expertise in the industry.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a bass player and composer, I like to think that what sets me apart is my story itself, which enabled me to explore a compound of emotions that allowed me to write and compose unique pieces.
The outcome of living in different countries and working with musicians from all over the world is personal growth and a global perspective, which is key to my compositions, that’s how I got to survive in such a saturated industry.
It wasn’t easy, there have been times in where I thought I should have dropped the ball, but I had enough clarity to realize that music isn’t just something I do: it’s what I am and always have been, that’s how I overcame the challenges of this business.
What I’m trying to express to the world is, it’s important to get rid of things that would fog our clarity: I like to think I can be an advocate for sobriety, which would eventually grant us the drive to achieve our goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles has so much to offer! My favorite spots are the Getty Museum, the Long Beach aquarium, LACMA, the La Brea Tar Pits and the many live music venues in Hollywood! And well, there’s no better place for foodies, we’re so lucky to have such a big amount of diverse restaurants!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Every musician that goes through the process of creating and releasing music is worth of attention and credit. Trust me, it’s no easy feat to compose, process and publish even a single song that’s in line with the industry standard requirements, let alone growing an audience, running social media campaigns and create engagement: it takes a lot of energy, time and money.
I recently released my song “California Forever”, which is inspired by my journey to healing and sobriety, and I made a music video, which required a lot of work on my end and from all parties involved.
In my story, I would like to shoutout to all of my collaborators, sound engineers, associated musicians, photographers and video makers that helped me making my vision come to life. They know who they are!
