We had the good fortune of connecting with Sokina Khamrabaeva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sokina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I always have been sharing, that i start this career as i used to see happy faces after i work on each person. I’ve been doing makeup on neighbours doing their hair, as middle eastern culture we are obsessed with beauty and i was passionate about this. I never thought a little girl like me from far away will achieve her journey all the way to Hollywood, but i can for sure say never stop dreaming and just create that vision and art you have in your heart!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel like each creator is extremely unique and freaking amazing, i’m surrounded by so many great artist and every day i learn so much, every day i get inspired by all this cool artist around me. I’m coming from very far country that most people can’t even pronounce or don’t know where does it belong my biggest goal always was and has to make my country to be known, for people to know what i am coming from and how much culture and flavor i bring in this industry, i am proud of who am i becoming and how the girl who couldn’t speak any english, makes big moves and yet to come.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to each educator i had in my beauty school Aveda, shoutout to each mentor i had in a beginning of my career and the biggest shoutout is my mom for fully knowing of what i am capable of.
