We had the good fortune of connecting with Solimar Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Solimar, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
That we must not take risks in life and that the “American dream” looks the same for everyone.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the founder and owner of UNBTHRD FASHION HOUSE™️

It is a unisex clothing brand looking to form a safe space in the fashion industry one piece of clothing at the time.

I am most proud of how far the brand has come in 2 years. Although it has not been without challenges and growth is a slow process, I feel we have to celebrate all the small success seeds that lead to the big growth.

Being in the retail space is challenging enough but being a new brand adds to those challenges. One of the ways I try to overcome these challenges is by focusing on the quality of my product. I need to make sure the quality is worth purchasing and the rest will follow.

Some of the lessons I have learnt are to be patient and that I cannot control everything.

Something I want everyone to know about UNBTHRD is that it was created with the consumer in mind because I myself am a huge consumer. We make pieces that not only remind you to dress in what makes you happy but we make pieces that will last and can be worn year round.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a foodie at heart so we would have a food tour for sure!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I want to shout out first my husband as he has been super supportive in more ways that I could’ve asked for and always has my back when it comes to business decisions.

Second I want to thank my family for being so supportive and always making purchases as well as always encouraging me to continue to grow my brand.
