Meet Sonia And Robin | TRANZITIONS LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sonia And Robin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sonia and Robin, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
TranZitions Consulting LLC supports neurodivergent young adults in building meaningful, independent adult lives by bridging the gap between school and employment. Through person-centered coaching, workforce readiness programs, paid internships, and coordinated family supports, TranZitions teaches the real-world skills that are often overlooked, such as communication, emotional regulation, self-advocacy, and workplace readiness. By designing high-quality programs that are accessible through public systems and employer partnerships, TranZitions expands access to employment, reduces family burnout, and contributes to a more inclusive workforce where neurodivergent adults are valued, capable, and prepared to participate fully in their communities.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets TranZitions apart is that we are person-centered, meaning we are focused on partnering with the individuals we support on goals that matter. Our work focuses on building the skills that actually determine adult success, executive functioning, emotional regulation, self-advocacy, communication, and workplace readiness, that translate in real environments. Programs like EVOLVE and NAVIGARE Coordinated Family Supports were intentionally designed to work within public systems while still delivering high-quality, person-centered support.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If our best friend were visiting, we would want to show them why we love living in California so much. We both gravitate toward nature and the outdoors, so a lot of our time would be spent on hiking trails, near the ocean, and just being outside. There’s something about California that makes it easy to slow down, breathe, and reconnect, that’s a coastal walk, a mountain hike, or simply sitting somewhere with a view, we both love a good hike, Griffith Park is lovely!
Food would be the other anchor of the week. We’d eat at a few favorite spots like Mala Class, Rosalind, and The Hummingbird for ceviche- places that feel creative, welcoming, and perfect for lingering conversations. The goal wouldn’t be to pack in as much as possible, but to enjoy great food, good company, and the balance California offers between nature, culture, and community.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people and systems that have shaped our work, but one person who deserves special recognition is Colleen Mock from Harbor Regional Center. Colleen was an innovative and deeply compassionate leader who understood both the data and the lived experiences behind it. At a time when employment outcomes for neurodivergent adults were consistently poor, she encouraged new thinking and believed that adult services could and should do better. Though she passed away in 2018, her influence continues to guide our work and our insistence on person-centered, real-world, dignity, driven supports.
We also want to shout out the young adults we work with every day. The young adults’ persistence, honesty, and willingness to keep showing up often after years of being underestimated, are the real reason TranZitions exists. The individuals we partner with remind us that success is rarely an individual achievement; it’s built through relationships, trust, and people who believe in your potential even before you fully believe in it yourself.
