Meet Sormeh Salimpour | Interior Decorator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sormeh Salimpour and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sormeh, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My career began at fashion PR firm People’s Revolution, and then as an assistant to celebrity stylist Monica Rose, working closely with celebrity clients such as Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian. I then pivoted my career, spending the last 10 years working alongside my mother at our design firm. With years of hands-on experience working on multi-million dollar projects, with such invaluable mentorship, I knew it was time to launch my own venture, Interiors by Sormeh.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What excites me most about my business is two fold. Supporting local creatives and artisans is a big win for me, being able to introduce their craft, whatever it may be, into different homes and lives is something I will never take lightly. I also love being able to show people that you can absolutely love your home, no matter how large or small, without spending a fortune on a decorator. “Interior Decorator” is daunting to many people because they automatically assume you need to be spending outside of your means to dress your space, but I am here to show people that is simply not the case.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Eat:
Raffis- the best persian food in southern california, hands down.
Village Pizza, my favorite pizza joint in los angeles, on larchmont, which is walkable and cute.
Elephante, trendy but worth the hype.
Rebulique- breakfast/brunch is a must.
Casa Vega, a consistent staple.
Drink:
Alfred Tea, their boba is something I crave weekly.
Coffee Dose, trust me on this one.
Earth Bar, I get my protein shakes here daily.
Vibey cocktails at the rooftop of The Ace Hotel.
Malibu beaches are my happy place and must be shared with all guests. The DTLA arts districts is a hidden gem. Get pierced by the best, at Body Electric. Hike in Santa Monica, the views are gorgeous and the weather is unbeatable.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dedicated to my mentor, my mom.
