We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Dinh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
In a field that is constantly evolving, a habit that helped me succeed in my career is continuously seeking training from the leaders in my industry. Following the training, I implement the new techniques and try to master the skill that I was aiming to improve. Nurses vowed to be an advocate for our patients. To properly advocate for our patients, we need to become life-long learners to stay current for optimal care. I do not know everything but strive to be properly informed. I feel being transparent and knowing my limitations help me become approachable. I welcome the dialogue for patients to discuss the things that they appreciated and the ones they did not.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an Aesthetic Nurse that specializes in injectable art using dermal fillers, neuro modulators like Botox and skin care to create natural looking results. What sets me a part from others is that I seek to build a meaningful and long lasting relationship with each of my patients. It’s been a long road since the beginning of my career, but the numerous obstacles have shaped me into who I am today. It helped me build a strong foundation and understanding of my craft. The greatest lesson I learned as of today is: the most expensive mistake is a missed opportunity. I want the world to know that I will commit to elevating myself and continuing to find ways to improve my craft. I hope to spread joy with each of my connections and continue to make a difference.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a great meal, I would take them to Westminster to enjoy Vietnamese Food. For some fun in the sun we would visit Seal Beach for paddle boarding. If they are into four legged fur babies, we can visit Rosie’s Dog Beach in Long Beach. For adventure in the city, we can visit the Arts District in Down Town Los Angeles. For a little adrenaline rush, we can skydive in Oceanside.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to take a moment to really thank my parents for allowing me to take on a nontraditional career path. They had their reservations but still managed to support me in many ways. My aunties, thank you for not abandoning me when I needed to learn how to make adjustments and for being so understanding. Thank you to my siblings who never once gave me grief for my choices. To my close friends who thought of me when they had questions pertaining to the industry I am in. To all that believed in me, your trust means everything and more. To all my co-workers past and present, thank you for making things move smoothly. I would also like to thank my dearest friends Ashley, Frances, Ginille, Naomi, Carolyn, and Allison. You ladies allowed me to share my challenges and pass along what I’ve learned. Each of these ladies held me accountable, and reminded me the importance of knowing my own worth. Last but not least, to my patients new and old, thank you for allowing me to do what I love.
