Meet Stephanie Galvez | Writer, Cancer Survivor/Advocate, Spartan Racer, Latina Small Business Owner, Business Consultant, Cohost and Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Galvez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
A book that changed my life is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, a 160-page Toltec practical guide to personal freedom. I added the page number for my non-avid readers, it’s a quick read. The author writes how following four agreements can help transform your mind and give you that “heaven on earth” mindset. The book outlines how these agreements each help us gain more personal freedom. The biggest lesson I got was people talk about you, good or bad. It is we who give those opinions meanings so the best thing to do is live your life the way you want.
The first time I read this book yes I’ve read it multiple times, I was going through a tough time in my life. I had moved to Las Vegas six months prior and had a hard time figuring out who I was in a new city.
If you have ever attended one of my speaking sessions or are a close friend, you have heard me refer to this book several times. “The Four Agreements” is what helped me write my first book, which I am almost done writing.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In May 2023, my previous employer informed me my position would be eliminated in June. After 11 years, in numerous roles from Customer Service, Sales Manager, Executive Assistant, and Project Manager, it was time to decide if I wanted to find another role within the company or take a leap and focus on the media production company (NEG MEDIA PRO), my husband Niko and I opened.
I decided it was time to take all the knowledge, experience, and skills and apply them to NEG MEDIA PRO. We focus on turning dreams into a reality; whether we are creating a music video, short film, commercial, or elevating a business to the next level. We also have a podcast, “The Local Talent Podcast” in which we promote talents in different industries; music, sports, adult entertainment, small businesses, etc.
A challenge I faced in the beginning was the fact, that I was no longer receiving a check.. Working for a Fortune 500, I received a paycheck every two weeks. Now I had to create a client base from the ground up. We’ve been fortunate to build our client list by being transparent and delivering exceptional work. We tailor our services for each client. We are not a one-size-fits-all because not all dreams are the same.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A friend is visiting Las Vegas, and the first thing I will tell them is there is more to Vegas than the strip.
Day 1: Breakfast and Explore the mountains.
First thing first, food- We will start with having breakfast at my favorite mom & pop ‘Polaris Street Cafe” After we are taking a quick drive to the mountains. Can you believe just an hour north of Las Vegas we have the beautiful Mount Charleston which offers various hiking trails, picnic areas, and breathtaking views. After coming down the mountain we will stop at Red Rock Casino to enjoy their day spa.
Day 2: Off-roading
Reservations with Awesome Adventures in Nelson Landing. The all-day RZR excursions take you for a ride along the Colorado River. We will stop in a private cove and enjoy the delicious lunch options
Day 3: Eat/ Shop/ Play
Downtown Summerlin offers a variety of delicious eateries including Makers & Finders. After enjoying a delicious breakfast we will shop until we drop and finish the day visiting the local casinos. Hopefully we find a $10 Craps table.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Niko, definitely deserves some credit and recognition. Four months before we got married, I was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Though it’s the cancer with the highest survival rate, it was a scary time. I looked at Niko and gave him the option to walk. He said, No and that we fight together. Little did we know my medical journey would take me through 4 surgeries, two rounds of radiation for my thyroid, plus a bilateral double mastectomy with reconstruction surgery. In the eight years we’ve been married I’ve had a total of 11 surgeries with multiple hospital stays.
When it came time to leave the corporate world, Niko gave me the encouragement and support I needed to become an entrepreneur. He knew my dream was to be an author and last year we bought a new laptop. I am happy to say I am almost finished with my first book with two more on the bench.
