We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Glover and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It started with a name: Grey Fox.
Encouraged by the words of my adult son’s 30-something friends, I was feeling more inspired than ever as I entered mid-life and prepared to come face-to-face with menopause. Grey Fox was catchy, but I added one more word to my new nickname: Haute. After all, it would be pretty challenging to describe me without addressing my love for fashion — haute couture to be exact.
It didn’t take me long to realize that 50+ bloggers exist, but they are also underrepresented. When using social media, I wanted to see more people who looked like me. I knew that we were out there, and I couldn’t wait to hear their adventures in lifestyle, beauty, fashion, and more. The social media community was missing the beautiful, diverse voices of 50+ bloggers, and I decided to join the conversation, too. Today, I’m a 50+ lifestyle blogger, and I’m living boldly, confidently, and in style.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have combined my love of photography and visual detail with haute couture clothing and all things fabulous. In 2016, I started a blog and shared my journey on social media. Today, as a 50+ blogger, I am inching closer to 10,000 followers on Instagram, and I have joined a community of beautiful, powerful voices.
My 9-5 and blog life are very different, but I bring the beauty and experience of both worlds together as I live boldly, confidently, and in style.
I’m most proud that I’m still posting regularly on social media. I’m still growing, sharing, and learning. I’m a life-long learner, and I’m always ready for my next class. As a creative, it is a joy to create with others.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you’re visiting me in Fayetteville, we’re heading downtown. We’re attending a Fayetteville Woodpeckers game and grabbing a delicious meal from Riverside Seafood.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Where would I be without the amazing group of 50+ bloggers who refuse to let society define them by their age? Seeing their love for this season of life has been so inspiring. If I paid attention to all of the rules, I wouldn’t be wearing braces at 58! I’m grateful for the tight-knit community of 50+ bloggers.
