We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephen Ferrer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephen, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is scary, its the unknown and the uncomfortable. I tend to take a lot more risk then the average person. I believe a lot of my success is due to that fact. Taking risk is that leap of faith you have to make to achieve the success you want. Being comfortable results in being complacent, but taking the risk and going into the unknown allows you to climb to new heights. I took the risk of leaving my corporate Personal Training Job. This allowed me to create a business thats reaches more people and allows me to live the life I want. Risk can lead to failure but also risk leads to uncapped success.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a partner of Movement Society LLC. A fitness company born between the minds of personal trainers. Movement Society was created to support trainers and clients, creating a community where you can lean on one another and achieve more together. The company has changed a bit since our creation in 2019, today we stand to support the creative community bridging the gap between strength and conditioning to the performing arts. Starting a business is never easy, no one has a blue-print on how to do it because every business is different. Every problem becomes a lesson to learn and a characteristic added to the business. As Movement Society continues to grow, I want people to find a community that allows them to be themselves, achieve their goals, and a place to be supported.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. If you are looking for the character of Los Angeles, this is where you find it. Filled with great eats, beautiful art, and amazing breweries the Arts District has been one of the greatest things happening in Downtown Los Angeles. This is also the home of Movement Society, where we connect the artist, the creatives, and the progressives to the world of physical fitness and exercise. The day will begin with an amazing workout at Movement Society, after we grab a bite to eat the Zinc Cafe, and grab some authentic beers at Angel City Brewery as the sun sets to the back drop of Downtown LA skyline.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can not be where I am without the support of my friends and family. First and foremost I would shout out my parents for believing and supporting me that I can begin a business and be successful. I know they were scared but they only showed support and love. Next is my friends and fellow trainers, we all push each other so hard to achieve more and more. There were times that were super hard and my friends were there as a shoulder to cry on. They picked me up when I most needed it and we constantly show each other that we can accomplish bigger and bigger goals. Lastly, my business partners who stood next to me and believed in one another to continue building Movement Society. My family, my friends, and my business partners are the largest part of my story.
