Meet Steven Taylor | Musician & Music Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Steven Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Steven, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My dad (Greg “Fingers” Taylor) inspired me from a young age. He’s a fantastic Musician and harmonica player! From then I got into guitarists like Eric Clapton & Jimi Hendrix. After my rock phase I got more into blues music which is what my dad specializes in as well. Guys like Otis Rush, Magic Sam, & Buddy Guy were & still are huge influence on me! I can’t name all of them but a couple more would be B.B. King & Johnny “guitar” Watson.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It definitely hasn’t been easy! I’m a musician so it’s definitely a tough business to be in. Gotta go through a lot of things to reach success! Luckily I’ve had some great people help me along the way and I just am always looking for the next thing. Whether it be a gig, album, writing a song, etc I’m excited for everything coming my way!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Week long trip! Definitely gotta see the science center & Santa Monica. Also heading up to NorCal & San Diego is a must!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes I’d like to shoutout my girlfriend Maria Macias! She’s an incredible musician & person. Without her life would be tough.
