We had the good fortune of connecting with Stockton Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stockton, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I didn’t choose to be a filmmaker; filmmaking chose me. For as long as I can remember, I’ve seen the world in scenes and sequences. Growing up here in Barbados, with its vibrant culture and stunning landscapes, I always felt there were stories waiting to be told—not just heard, but seen.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Writer and editor at my production company boardhouse productions ,
Here is what sets us apart from others .My focus on sci-fi and horror, which appears to be a unique niche within the Barbadian film industry. For instance, I co-directed The Barbados Project, a found footage sci-fi horror film, and is excited about producing The Silence After which was promoted as the first Caribbean-produced zombie movie Set to be Release in 2025.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oistins Fish Fry: This is a quintessential Barbadian experience, especially on a Friday night. You’ll find a lively atmosphere with fresh fish grilled or fried to perfection, local music, and a chance to mingle with both tourists and locals.

A Rum Tour: Barbados is the birthplace of rum! You can visit a distillery like Mount Gay or Foursquare to learn about the history and process, and of course, sample some of the finest blends.

Cuz’s Fish Shack: Located near Pebbles Beach, this is a must-visit for a classic Bajan “cutter” (a fish sandwich on a local salt bread). It’s a simple, delicious, and very authentic experience.

Bathsheba: On the rugged east coast, Bathsheba is known for its dramatic rock formations, like the famous “Soup Bowl” rock. It’s not a swimming beach due to strong currents, but it’s an incredible spot for a picnic, a walk, and soaking in the powerful views.
