We had the good fortune of connecting with SuperTallPaul and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi SuperTallPaul, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe being consistent is the most important factor to the success of my business. I do what is agreed upon and then go above and beyond. I have made my brand be fun and eccentric which stands out in an authentic way.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In 2005 I won the Best Independent Jazz album by the Los Angeles Music Awards In 2012 I won a Boss Looping competition and became a recognized World Champion Looper. I have traveled the world performing festivals, theaters, street shows, weddings, and back yard get togethers. I have stared in a candid camera pepsi commercial looping unsuspecting people into an improvised song. I have learned through actual experience that my presentation transcends generations. I often have 3 different generations enjoying the same piece of music at the same time. Little kids dancing and enjoying my silliness. Hipsters digging the beat and process while grandmas and grandpas say “This used to be my favorite song, haven’t heard it in ages.” I am an entertainment artist and can custom my offering to any occasion, event, or environment.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting and had never been to socal we would get some coffee and breakfast at the Griddle Cafe. We would then hit up a hike in the Santa Monica mountains. We would stroll through 3rd street in Santa Monica and then head to the boardwalk down in Venice. We would end with drinks and dinner at Baby Blues BBQ. Long day of walking!!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Improv for the win!! I owe so much of my business, ability, and ethos from improv theater. I offer improv workshops for the non performer. There are amazing therapeutic, team building, and general life coping lessons and tools that work for everyone. Especially if you have no intention of being a performer.
