We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzanne Weinert of In Situ Jewelry, and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suzanne, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My brand wouldn’t be what it is today without all the effort I’ve put into building it. Whether it’s designing and making jewelry, packing orders, photographing pieces, updating my website or marketing In Situ, I work really hard everyday. I’m very passionate about creating jewelry, but it wouldn’t have grown to be a reliable source of income without me putting in the work to build the business.

Alright, so tell me something that sets your brand apart from others?
Quality craftsmanship and attention to detail have always been really important to me. I take pride in the fact that every piece of In Situ Jewelry is handmade by me and made to last. I make sure all of my designs are durable, and that each piece is free of imperfections. I want my customers to have confidence that when they purchase In Situ, they are investing in high quality, handmade jewelry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from Northern California, I haven’t spent too much time exploring LA. I’ve always wanted to check out the iconic skate park at Venice Beach. Would love to go with my good friend who’s from there; get brunch at Gjusta and dinner at Hama Sushi! Just the people watching in Venice alone would be entertaining, and if we could sneak in some beach time & sushi I’d be stoked.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

My husband, for sure! Since Day One, he has been my biggest mentor. He encourages me to push hard for In Situ. To do the work. When I’m too busy to stay on top of everything, he steps in and does the cooking/ cleaning/ taking care of the kids. He gives me advice when I ask for it, but also recognizes that I’m the one who’s built my brand and that what I’m doing is working. He always reminds me that at the end of the day, I know what’s best for my business.
