We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzi Abadjian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suzi, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always been deeply passionate about creativity and self-expression. From a young age, I was fascinated by how hair could transform someone’s appearance and boost their confidence. Hair styling is not just a job for me; it’s an art form where I can blend creativity with technical skill to create unique and personalized looks for my clients. As a brand owner of Chita Beauty haircare products, this artistic vision extends to developing innovative products that help people express their individuality and feel their best. Combining my love for art and my desire to make a positive impact on others’ lives made this career path the perfect choice for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a hairstylist and haircare brand owner, my art is all about creating personalized, transformative experiences for my clients. What sets me apart from other hairstylists is my commitment to understanding each client’s unique style, personality, and needs. I blend cutting-edge techniques with a deep appreciation for the latest trends, always aiming to craft looks that are both innovative and timeless. I have a few signature looks my clients would come back and always ask for , but i always appreciated that my clients trusted me enough to let me be creative in my own way and let me create looks for them that i thought would suit their style and personality. It involves more than just technical skill; it’s about seeing hair as a canvas and transforming it into a form of self-expression .

I’m particularly proud of the haircare brand I’ve developed. Each product is formulated with high-quality, natural ingredients that nourish and enhance hair health. My goal was to create products that not only perform exceptionally but also promote long-term hair wellness. The positive feedback and results my clients share with me affirm that we’re making a real difference in their haircare routines.

What brings me the most pride, however, is the trust and relationships I’ve built with my clients. Seeing the confidence and joy that a great hairstyle or a perfect product can bring to someone is incredibly rewarding. This connection and the ability to positively impact someone’s life through my work is what drives me every day.

The lessons Ive learned throughout my journey, whether it’s the services I provide or the products I develop, maintaining high standards of quality has always been more important than producing in high volume. Quality builds trust and loyalty. Building strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and mentors has been incredibly valuable. Supportive networks provide encouragement, feedback, and opportunities for collaboration and growth.

While creativity and passion are the heart of my work, understanding the business side—marketing, finances, operations—is equally important. Balancing both ensures the sustainability and success of Chita Beauty.

Self-Care and Balance in life was a challenge I had to overcome . Taking care of my own well-being is essential. A balanced life helps maintain creativity, energy, and a positive outlook, which directly impacts my work and the quality I can offer to clients.

These lessons have shaped my journey and continue to guide me as I strive to innovate and inspire through my work and my brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Here’s a week-long itinerary for exploring Los Angeles, with a mix of iconic sights, local favorites, and diverse dining options:

Downtown LA

• The Broad: Start your day with contemporary art at The Broad museum (advance reservations recommended).
• Walt Disney Concert Hall: Walk around the stunning architecture designed by Frank Gehry.

• Grand Central Market: Enjoy a variety of cuisines from different food stalls.

• The Last Bookstore: Explore one of LA’s most famous independent bookstore.

• Bestia: Indulge in modern Italian cuisine in the Arts District (reservations recommended).

• Hollywood Walk of Fame: Stroll along the famous stars on Hollywood Boulevard.

• Runyon Canyon: Hike for great views of the Hollywood Sign and the city.

• Yamashiro: Enjoy sushi with a view in this historic Japanese restaurant overlooking Hollywood.

Beverly Hills & West Hollywood
• Rodeo Drive: Window shop or splurge at the high-end boutiques.

• The Ivy: A charming spot for celebrity sightings and delicious Californian cuisine.
My favorite dinner spot
• Catch LA: A trendy rooftop spot in West Hollywood known for seafood and great ambiance.

Santa Monica & Venice Beach

• Santa Monica Pier: Enjoy the amusement park, aquarium, and scenic views.

• Venice Beach Boardwalk: People-watch, shop, and enjoy street performers.
• Venice Canals: Walk through the picturesque canals inspired by Venice, Italy.

Malibu
• El Matador Beach: Relax and explore the stunning rock formations and scenic coastline.

• Malibu Farm Restaurant: Enjoy fresh, organic dishes on the Malibu Pier.

• Getty Villa: Discover ancient art and artifacts in a beautiful setting.

• Nobu Malibu: Treat yourself to high-end Japanese cuisine with ocean views (reservations recommended).

And lastly my favorite dining spot to experience if your my best friend would be Din Tai Fung . I’m usually there 2 times a week . I love and appreciate how fun and exciting La is if anyone is ever visiting or passing through! These are must see places to visit and eat!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In my journey as a hairstylist and brand owner, I owe a great deal of credit and recognition to my family and my clients. My family has been my rock, providing unwavering support and encouragement every step of the way. They believed in my vision even when it was just a dream, and their faith in me has been a constant source of motivation. It wasn’t easy for them to see me working 12 hours a day , and putting multiple hours at the salon or office. But im so thankful that their patience allowed me to push my success forward and find myself in my career.

I also want to give a heartfelt shoutout to my incredible clients. Their trust in my skills and their loyalty have been instrumental in my success. They’ve allowed me to experiment, grow, and evolve as an artist. Each client’s unique story and style inspire me to keep pushing the boundaries of creativity. Without their support, feedback, and word-of-mouth recommendations, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you to all of them for being an essential part of my journey.
