Meet Switzon S. Wigfall, III | Music Producer, Beatmaker, Art Director, Graphic Designer, Curator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Switzon S. Wigfall, III aka “SSWIII” (pronounced “S-S-W-3”) and lately better known as “Switzon The Great”
and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Switzon S., is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Yeah, I do, actually: We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams – this is the opening line from the poem “Ode” by Arthur O’Shaughnessy. I used to always think it was a Willy Wonka quote because I was a big fan of the movie WIlly Wonka & The Chocolate Factory but the originator of that quote was O’Shaughnessy. What it means is the idea that people are significant together, no matter how they may feel unheard or unrepresented – to me that’s a very beautiful powerful statement that uplifts us all as creators.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is a love letter to culture—both past and future called “Everydays” which is my daily creative practice where I challenge myself to create a new piece of 3D CGI art every single day. It’s not just about the finished pieces—it’s about growth, discipline, and exploration. I specialize in blending abstract, psychedelic forms, surrealism, and even a touch of humor with meme art, all created in Cinema 4D. The process keeps me sharp as an artist, constantly pushing boundaries and experimenting with new techniques and ideas.
Some of these works take the form of static images, while others evolve into mini animation videos I call “VJ loops.” These loops are seamless, vibrant animations that can be used in music performances, visual storytelling, or creative experiments. What makes this project even more special to me is that many of these works are released for free under a Creative Commons license. This means anyone in the creative community can download and use them for any purpose—whether it’s for a personal project, a live event, or even just inspiration. The inspiration came from the realization that consistent practice leads to mastery. By committing to creating something every single day, I could not only improve my technical skills in Cinema 4D but also deepen my artistic voice. It’s a way to stay accountable to my craft while giving back to the creative community.
“Everydays” has been transformative in many ways. It’s taught me to let go of perfectionism and trust the process, knowing that each piece, whether big or small, contributes to my growth. It’s also helped me connect with a global audience. Sharing my work for free has created a sense of collaboration and generosity. I’ve had people from all over the world use my VJ loops in their projects, music videos, or live performances. Knowing that my art inspires or supports other creators is incredibly rewarding. This project embodies my belief that art should be accessible and that the creative process is just as valuable as the finished product. “Everydays” is about experimentation and breaking boundaries—whether through surreal, mind-bending visuals or by making tools and inspiration available to others. It’s also a testament to the power of persistence, showing that even small daily efforts can build something extraordinary over time.
I want to expand the project further by incorporating more interactivity, perhaps using emerging technologies like augmented reality or VR to create immersive experiences. I’m also exploring collaborations with musicians, brands, and other artists to take these VJ loops and abstract pieces into new territories. Ultimately, “Everydays” is about evolution—both mine as an artist and the ways the work impacts the creative community.
As a music producer and beatmaker, I find magic in sampling vinyl records and weaving them into a sonic tapestry that feels abstract, soulful, and futuristic. As an art director and music producer who loves creating all types of beats and sample flips I aim to amplify hip-hop’s voice, especially in the LA beat and electronic music scene where the culture is alive, raw, and evolving. What sets me apart is the way I merge these worlds, creating stories and experiences that resonate not just in sound but in visuals and emotions. What sets me apart is my commitment to preserving and reinventing. I honor the roots of hip-hop while pushing its boundaries into the abstract and experimental. I don’t just sample records; I resurrect them, giving them new purpose and life. My visuals reflect the same ethos—pulling from street culture, nostalgia, and bold innovation to craft something that feels familiar yet refreshingly different.
Getting here was anything but easy. It’s been a mix of late nights, self-doubt, and pushing through external expectations. Growing up, I often felt torn between societal pressures to follow a “safe” path and my passion for creating. Hip-hop gave me the blueprint: resilience, resourcefulness, and authenticity. I didn’t have all the resources when I started, but I learned to make something from nothing—whether it was flipping a beat on a second-hand MPC or designing a brand with limited tools. I overcame challenges by leaning into community and staying true to the process. Hip-hop is rooted in collaboration, and I’ve been blessed to work with incredible creatives who’ve inspired and supported me. I’ve learned that the obstacles often fuel the art; the struggles shape the stories we tell. I remind myself that the journey is the art, not just the outcome.
I want the world to know that my work is about more than just beats, designs, or campaigns—it’s about keeping culture alive and inspiring others to find their voice. My brand is rooted in storytelling, in celebrating the beauty of imperfections, and in pushing boundaries. As an artist and influencer in Los Angeles, I want to honor hip-hop’s legacy while showing the next generation that they can create something extraordinary from their unique experiences. My story is proof that authenticity and resilience can turn dreams into reality.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Short answer: I would definitely take my best friend who was visiting the area to all the underground warehouse and pop up shops in the new arts district, the same with Echo Park, Leimert Park and of course all of the bar venues of my home in downtown Long Beach.
Long answer: I love immersing myself in the energy of Los Angeles, especially in places that embody the spirit of the city. There’s nothing like walking through the art galleries in DTLA or catching a live DJ set at an underground event where music and visuals collide in the most unexpected ways.
One of my favorite spots is the Hollywood Bowl—it’s magic under the stars, whether it’s a classic hip-hop show, an orchestra performance, or something totally experimental.
I also think small, everyday places can be just as exciting—a record shop where you stumble upon a rare find, a late-night taco truck with friends after a long studio session, or even a quiet park where you can sit with your thoughts and recharge. These places might seem simple, but they hold magic when you slow down and appreciate them.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, first I would like to dedicate my shoutout to 15-year-old me – the kid who never gave up despite the odds and kept going believing in himself to create the career he always wanted for the man he is today. Secondly is my Mom and Dad for also believing in me with love and support to provide resources to help me become the artist I always wanted to be today. A lot of times like most parents they were a little concerned because I took the road less traveled and took risks but they still supported me and that has helped me more than anything to this day. Thirdly is my wife Cynthia (my ride or die) who has been with me since the jump and supporting me through this long crazy wild journey of where I always wanted to be today in my creative career as well.
