We had the good fortune of connecting with Sylvie Barnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sylvie, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
I embrace my inner power and creativity, transforming every challenge into an opportunity for growth and success. I am the architect of my reality, and I trust in my ability to manifest my dreams.

This affirmation resonates with me because it speaks to my belief in turning challenges into growth. I’ve always trusted my creativity and inner strength to guide me through new undertakings, and I know that every experience shapes me into a stronger version of myself. It reminds me that I’m in control of my journey and that everything I need to make my dreams a reality is already within me.

What should our readers know about your business?
I run Acclaimed Entertainment & Arts LLC, a boutique event production and consulting company focused on creating immersive and meaningful experiences and building brands. What sets us apart is our attention to detail and our ability to bring together music, art, and wellness in ways that feel personal and impactful. One of the things I’m most proud of is working with incredible organizations like Long Beach Blues Society, Bobby Dee Presents, and KJAZZ. I love seeing an idea come to life and watching people connect and have fun because of something I helped create.

Getting to where I am today is not easy. Starting a business in event production means juggling a lot—building relationships, managing logistics, and finding your niche. I’ve had to learn to roll with the punches and stay adaptable. One of my biggest lessons was how important clear communication is. A few tough experiences early on taught me how to set expectations and build trust with my collaborators.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here are some touch points I’d plan for a fun week in LA with my best friend:

Disneyland: You can’t beat a full day of magic—rides, nostalgia, and all the churros. End the night at Downtown Disney for live music and good food.
Jazz & Live Music: I’d hit up The Baked Potato for an intimate jazz vibe. For something bigger, check out a show at The Greek Theatre or Hollywood Bowl—they’re both iconic outdoor venues.
Art & Culture: West Adams has some great galleries, plus you’ve got The Broad Museum and MOCA downtown for a mix of modern and cutting-edge art. The Arts District is also fun for shopping and street art.
Venice & Santa Monica: A walk through the Venice Canals is always cool. I’d shop on Abbot Kinney and the boardwalk, bike along the beach path, and maybe swing by the Santa Monica Pier for some classic seaside fun.
Hiking & Nature: A hike up to the Griffith Observatory is a must for the views, and Solstice Canyon in Malibu is perfect if you’re craving nature and a little quiet.
Topanga: Topanga is also a very magical place and hidden gem with wonderful hiking trails, great places to eat, and fabulous boutique shops.
Shopping & Records: Silver Lake is awesome for boutique shopping, and I’d definitely stop by Amoeba Records to dig through some vinyl.
Food & Drinks: Brunch at Highly Likely Café is so good, and dinner at Bestia is a favorite. For drinks, Zebulon always has a great vibe.
Local Spots: Echo Park Lake is fun for renting pedal boats and Melrose Trading Post is always a win for vintage finds.
Malibu: A scenic drive up to Malibu is such a vibe—brunch at Malibu Farm and some beach time at El Matador makes for a dreamy day.
Super chill and easy to mix up depending on what feels right that day!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to my dad. Even though we’ve had limited time together over the years, his resilience and love for life have had such a profound impact on me. Despite the distance, his influence has shaped how I approach challenges and opportunities, and I’m so grateful for that.

I also want to recognize the amazing mentors and collaborators I’ve worked with in the event and entertainment world. The countless festivals, conferences, concerts, and special events I’ve been a part of, these experiences—and the incredible people behind them—have been so instrumental in helping me grow both personally and professionally.

Lastly, I have to mention ‘The Four Agreements’ by Don Miguel Ruiz. That book was a game-changer for me. Its simple yet powerful principles have helped me stay grounded and navigate life with clarity and purpose. All of these influences—my dad, my mentors, and even books like that—have played a huge role in shaping the person I am today.
