We had the good fortune of connecting with Taheerah McDougal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taheerah, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My life’s motto is “Leave everything a little better than you found it”. Whether in business, relationships, or every day interactions, there is importance in being mindful of the energy we carry and leave behind as we move through life. If I am a positive influence in any way, then in return, I hope to inspire the next person to show up as their best self, too.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Talent Management, specifically in the realm of modeling, has truly been a fulfilling career. As an agent, you become integrated in this unique collective of people who are endlessly seeking to create on a growing scale. As a creative, I hold great appreciation for the intricacies needed to bring visions to fruition as I do with my own art.

As I approach a decade in the industry, I often reflect on the careers I’ve been blessed to start and honored to change. One major highlight is witnessing confidence grow within a model and helping them achieve personal milestones — whether it’s the opportunity to work with their favorite brand or seeing their face on a billboard or magazine, it is those moments that bring me joy!

I like to equate my success to treating people as just that, people first. I try to provide distinct attention to my talent based around who they are as individuals first and model/actor/influencer second. Although we each have a job we are trying to fulfill, we cannot ignore the reality of navigating our intense, human experiences along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I love this city, Los Angeles has it all! Some of my favorite things include:

– Attending a pop-up brand event
– Chinatown Summer Nights – night market
– Burgers from Vurger Guys food truck (vegetarian & black-owned!)
– Hiking at Griffith Observatory + reading at Griffith Park
– Shopping at Century City
– Manhattan Beach with friends
