Meet Takia Tizzi” Green”

We had the good fortune of connecting with Takia “Tizzi” Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Takia “Tizzi”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my company Majestic 9 Films and Majestic 9 Productions had been a dream of mine from the moment that I knew, I wanted to be in the tv/film business. I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur, and I knew that whatever career I pursued would be the type of business that I would own. There were plenty of entrepreneurs in my family so I grew up with great examples of business ownership.
I also witnessed how owning a business contributed to my community in a positive way on so many levels like creating jobs and bringing resources to the community that may not be available for those in underserved communities like where I grew up in South Central Los Angeles. My first job in the tv/film business was at Sony Pictures Entertainment as a Production Assistant. Sony is considered corporate and working there for years and climbing the ladder gave me an insight on how the corporate side of making television and film works.
This was motivation for me to someday own my own Production company and studio, so that I could create content that would have the foundation of uplifting and empowering others through the art of film. I wanted to create storytelling from an authentic point of view and share stories that may not get the chance to have the support of a major studio. I also wanted to create job opportunities for those in underserved communities who want to be in the tv/film business but may not have the resources or connections to be introduced to that world of show business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Gedolah Group Holdings dba Majestic 9 Films and Majestic 9 Productions is a multi-media production and entertainment company that goes beyond content creation to craft unforgettable experiences. Majestic 9 Films is an award winning television and film studio that was established in 2012 and is known for our feature documentary film Word Warriors III starring Malcolm Jamal Warner and distributed by Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios. We recently released an award winning narrative short film titled The Battle Within that is making waves at some of the most notable film festivals in the US. We are also partnered with Group Effort Initiative (GEI) a program started by former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to mentor, provide jobs and internships to underprivileged youth in the tv and film business.
Our Majestic 9 Production arm of the business Specializes in videography, photography, aerial photography, graphics, animation, virtual production, digital marketing & advertising, and live & special events, we drive the success stories of nonprofits, corporate giants, government entities, and small businesses alike through visual content on all media platforms. Majestic 9 Productions is currently contracted with the City of Los Angeles to provide their videography and post production needs.
What sets us apart from others is that as a certified minority woman owned business and as the Founder and CEO, I was considered that underprivileged child that was given an opportunity to be apart of the Hollywood television and film community, and now at Majestic 9 we create those same opportunities for the youth in front of and behind the camera. This gives us a guarantee of authentic stories and content that needs to be heard and seen. We are Committed to delivering standout, versatile, and prolific material, and the company consistently strives to engage, inspire, and leave a lasting impact on audiences in the realm of film, television and content creation. This is what I am most proud of, creating jobs in my community and giving an opportunity to those who are extremely talented and just want a chance to hone their skills.
It has not been an easy journey but with my faith in God and living a purpose driven life I take the failures as lessons and building blocks. I wanted to build a company where I did not have to depend on any entity giving me a greenlight on what content I can create and distribute. The way we are set up at Gedolah Group Holdings we are doing just that by creating what we want, when we want. In the near future we will be launching our M9TV streaming platform to distribute our very own content along with other like minded content creators who have an inspiring story to tell.
Our brand is “Amplify Your Message..Elevate Your Brand..Make it Majestic”. That is exactly what we do over here at Majestic 9. Our storytelling and content creation has to have meaning behind it that inspires and encourages those without a voice to speak up and be heard, and also to be the voice of the unheard all while uplifting communities around the globe. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to hear some live comedy at The Improv or The Laugh Factory. I love live music so we would definitely hit up LACMA. We must hit up Crenshaw and swoop on over to Leimert Park to patronize our local black businesses. And we will absolutely have a beach day.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shotout to those who had a hand in guiding me on this journey and continue to contribute to my success and pour into me with their unwavering love and support. My tribe starts with my mother Larachus and my family, Linda Broadous Miles the former Executive Director of the Al Wooten Jr Youth Center who discovered me, my best friend Marnier, my cousin Pam, my team at Majestic 9, and all of my mentors who took me under their wing throughout the years to teach me what I know today.
